We travel a lot & decided on a long weekend break in Milan to catch up with friends.
First time in Milan so hotel & location was important.
Our friends had tried to persuade us to stay elsewhere so maybe we should have taken their advice.
No personal service as such. We arrived in rain & whilst we were trying to get our bags in through the main heavy glass doors there were 3 individuals who we thought were guests at the hotel messing around with a ‘selfie’ frame.....they were employees. No help with baggage, no niceties.....then onto reception.
The room was nice. However the wooden floor was filthy. I walked around barefooted for 30 minutes then had to wash them. Note to management: wooden floors can be cleaned.
We had to ask for more toiletries, had to ask for the room to be made up as some joker opposite us kept changing our ‘make the room up’ sign.
Having said all of the above the hotel is well located & sits in a good area of its own for shops, bars & restaurants even though the centre is only a 10 minute walk away.
Breakfast was fine, hit & miss with the chef though. Some mornings you were able to ask for freshly cooked eggs, other mornings there was no sign...
Staff across the board need to be more attentive.More
