Really enjoyed our time at this hotel. Beautiful view of the lake and mountains! Lovely outdoor restaraunt area where we enjoyed breakfast! Stresa is gorgeous and would love to come back some day! Pillows were a little hard, but we requested softer ones.We would stay here again!

We spent 9 days in Stresa at this great hotel in September, This is a family run hotel located on the outskirts of Stresa.
The hotel is lovely set in beautiful surroundings, the views are outstanding, especially from the 5th floor large terrace.
The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, we had a superior room on the 4th floor which also has a large balcony overlooking the lake. We stayed on a b&b basis and the breakfast was good and typically Italian - breads, pastries, meats & cheese, fruit etc.
The staff were especially great, All very friendly and knowledgeable and could not do enough to help.
Definitely recommend.

Room tip: Some of 3rd or 4th floor have like view rooms

The Royal is a lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, with breathtaking views of the lake from the terrace. A couple of things could make it even better, like more seating on the roof terrace, (I counted only 4 sun loungers ). More small tables/chairs in the bar area for those wanting one of the bar snacks (the salads were really tasty), more exciting dinner menus, and a fully stocked bar.

If you are visiting Lago Maggiore to visit the islands and go up the cable car this hotel is ideally located. Good parking, great food and a warm welcome awaits the roof top panorama is stunning, a short walk along the lake front to town, and just minutes from the lake taxis to the beautiful Borromee islands and the Montecone mountain cable car

Room tip: Choose 4th floor with balcony

We have just returned from our third visit to the Hotel Royal in Stresa, and once again we were very impressed with the hotel, staff and quality of meals. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by members of the staff, who made us feel completely at home. As usual our room had a side view of the lake. It was spotlessly clean. When we went down for dinner, we noticed that they had altered the setting of the dining room, giving more room to move about. Instead of a dessert buffet, there was a sweet trolley which was brought to your table, so you could make your choice. This avoided queuing as in previous years. There was a different dinner menu each evening, with a variety of starters and main courses. Occasionally there was an hors d'oeuvres course.
It was so nice to relax after dinner in the big easy chairs in the lounge with a coffee and a liqueur.
The service as usual was excellent and the staff friendly and polite. The flowers in the arrangements around the hotel were all from the hotel grounds and were refreshed each day by the daughter of the owners.
.The one thing that shouldn't be missed is the superb view over the lake and the Borromean Islands from the roof terrace on the 5th floor. The hotel is a 20 minute stroll from Stresa centre along a well kept promenade, with the occasional coffee stop on the way.
This is one hotel whose rating should be upgraded to a 4*.
Thank you all for once again making our holiday a successful one.
We'll be back!
