“Nice apartment ! Great location !”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

My son and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Castello. The apartment is very nice and has a great view of Lake Maggiore from the balcony. It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable within a very short walk of Stresa town, supermarket and lakeside. The drawback for me was the up hill climb from the town to the apartment, it is on a steep incline and being in my 60's and having arthritis in my knees I found it quite tiring at times.
However the peace and quiet of the location more than made up for the climb and it was nice to relax there after a busy day sightseeing, shopping and eating.
No wi-fi at the apartment so you have to find places in the town that offer it free, also the TV did not show many Uk channels but that did not bother us we just used the radio.
The key arrangements were fine and the rep very helpful and informative.
Overall a nice place to stay when visiting Lake Maggiore which is beautiful with lots to see and do.

“Comfortable accommodation, conveniently located”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Comfortable accommodation, although fairly basically equipped. With good views from the balcony, this was restricted by the adjoining flats. Whilst TV is available the reception is very poor and throughout our 2 week stay hardly any reception was available, fortunately this did not concern us. The property is ideally situated for access to the Town being only a few minutes walk to the shops and lake side.

“Wonderful location”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The key pick up arrangements worked very well. The apartment is in an excellent location less than a 10 minute walk from the centre of Stresa. It is located up a bit of a hill but we did not find the walk too strenuous although it was extremely hot when we were staying (32 deg C + every day) and if you wanted to avoid a cool down period after returning to the apartment you would need to take the hill slowly. The apartment size, furnishings and equipment are excellent. The Freeview TV reception is poor on some channels (mostly the BBC ones) during certain atmospheric conditions. There are 2 portable fans provided but it would have been great to have had air conditioning. It seemed to be the mosquito season and many people were walking around with bites so take some repellent! The balcony is excellent with superb views. If you're taking a car make sure it's a small one as some of the streets are extremely narrow and parking in the space in the garage would otherwise be a challenge. There are loads of restaurants in Stresa and the ferry terminal is less than a 10 minute walk away. Make sure you visit all 3 islands but don't try to do them in one day as you won't do them justice. The cable car was shut for maintenance but we are sure this would be a great outing when open. We drove up to Mottaroni via the toll road from where the views of the lakes and the Alps are an experience not to be missed.

“A great base”
Reviewed 1 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

On the edge of the town, but only five minutes away from the shops, restaurants and the boat.
The balcony is not overlooked and has a great view out over the lake towards Pallanza. The walk up to the apartment block entrance we didn't find at all taxing and we're both retired, though it is on a gradient.. We enjoyed breakfasts on the balcony which gets sun up to late morning, and is good for evening dining. Having English terrestrial TV channels was a bonus. Stresa provided a great location because it's on the railway, there are boats regularly up, down and across the lake, and the buses go back towards Milan, up to Intra, and across to Lake Orta, so it's a communications hub. There are other houses behind the block, and occasionally there's noise from pets, etc, but I would certainly stay here again.
