“Very well equipped and located apartment - and extremely helpful owners”
Reviewed 14 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This is a lovely modern apartment which feels like it hasn't been used as a rental for long. The kitchen is well equipped and whilst slightly cramped with the sofa bed extended there is welcome additional space via the balcony which we used as our dining area.Bedroom and bathroom both feel very contemporary. The pool area is very big and has something for everyone, whether you want to swim or just paddle in the shallow end with toddlers. Deborah the owner couldn't do enough for us and the welcome pack of toiletries and wine/water was a very nice touch. The property comes with the use of bicycles which we used to cycle into the historic part of Sirmione - which has a castle and old roman villa which are well worth visiting and is a picturesque part of the area- cycling also saves you a fortune in parking at that end of town. The apartment is only 10 minutes walk from a main road adjacent to the lake and has a decent supermarket and plenty of restaurants to eat at. The lake has plenty of places to sun bath and swim although mainly grassy verges. The apartment is only 20/30 minutes from Gardaland and Caneva world by car much to the delight of our girls ( and me!) and are well worth visiting for the more active - book Gardaland for the night, 6-11pm it is cooler and less busy so queuing is reduced. Lovely accommodation in a lovely part of the Island with things to do for all the family.

“Great apartment in lovely location”
Reviewed 13 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Highly recommend this really great apartment with lots of lovely touches (including slippers, v nice welcome back, large shower gel and moisturiser and washing machine tablets) in a lovely well maintained development, with a super swimming pool. We really enjoyed our week stay and Deborah was very helpful (she doesn't speak English but I got to practice my Italian!). The apartment is in a lovely development (full of very tanned Italians!) in a great area with nice restaurants in walking distance and about a 10 minute walk from the lake. The kitchen/living area is quite small so it may be a little tight for 4 people but it was perfect for us with a 1 year old. Great sized bathroom although no shower but our baby was very happy to sit in the shower for her "bath". Deborah also provided an excellent travel cot with a proper comfy mattress (which is very rare) and a good strap on high chair. The apartment also has plastic plates, bowls and spoons so is very well set up for toddlers and young kids. Highly recommend the apartment and location!

“Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!”

This property is really really lovely. Situated in a quiet residential area, the complex is well maintained and has a beautiful large pool with a resident lifeguard, a children's pool and jacuzzi. There is lift access to the property so it may be suitable for people with moderate mobility difficulties or for those who need to use a wheelchair only when outdoors. The apartment is beautifully presented and although the combined living room/kitchen area/second bedroom is not huge, it has been extremely well designed to accommodate all the essentials of a modern home (dishwasher, coffee machine, NEFF cooker and microwave, TV and air conditioning). The owners have stocked it with beautiful crockery, crystal glasses, and high quality pans and all equipment far exceeds that provided in other holiday rentals we have previously stayed in. Off the kitchen/living room is a lovely balcony which has a large dining table, barbecue and comfy chair - this overlooks the pool area. The bedroom is large and bright, has lots of wardrobe space, has a very comfortable double bed, and a second TV. Only Italian channels on the TV's though! Off the bedroom is a another balcony, with small table and chairs and this overlooks a very quiet road and vineyards. The bathroom has a powerful shower, and also has a washing machine. The apartment throughout is immaculately clean and the owners also supply lots of towels, including sun-bed towels, and spare bed linen. A vestibule area between bedroom and bathroom has storage space and a full range of cleaning equipment - iron, ironing board (new but a bit wobbly), vacuum cleaner , mops, cleaning sprays, there is also a temperature controlled wine cabinet, and interestingly an aromatherapy unit which fills the property with a lovely scent (but it can be turned off if you wish).

The owners Deborah and Davide are truly charming and are very keen to ensure their guests have a pleasant stay. They are extremely generous in what they provide as a welcome pack - wine, cheese, pasta, olive oil, jams, coffee and tea pods for the coffee machine, milk, biscuits, butter, water, dishwasher tablets, soap powder, laundry detergent, washing up liquid plus additional gifts. They also allow use of their bikes and provided sun-beds for use by the pool. The property also has a good alarm system for security. Deborah and Davide don't speak much English and I don't speak much Italian but as they brought their iPad and used google translate for the difficult bits we managed just fine! It may be useful to know that Davide and Deborah have to travel a fair distance to meet you at the property as they do not live locally, so if they provide you with a time to meet them it is best to stick to it (we arrived a bit too early - which was totally our fault and we didn't realise that they were having to travel so far!)

Although on the outskirts of Sirmione - it is a great location. Peaceful after a busy day of sight seeing but with easy access to the main attractions of Sirmione and beyond. We enjoy walking so preferred to walk to and from the peninsula - it was a pleasant stroll of about half and hour to the base of the peninsula and a further half hour stroll to the point. (Cafés and restaurants en-route). However if you don't like walking there is an efficient and cheap bus service about 5 minutes from the property (you buy tickets for this in the local newsagent opposite the carabinieri station) and there are also good cycle tracks (suitable for even a cautious cyclist like me!). If you have children there is a pretty play park about 3 minutes walk away. It is also about 5 minutes walk to the lake, and main road through the town where there is a small local supermarket, a lovely artisan shop selling local wine, bread, and fruit, a newsagent, and numerous other interesting shops, cafés and bars. A further five minutes walk away there are a couple of large supermarkets. The main road links to the Milan-Venezia autostrada so is very accessible if you have a car. Car hire turned out to be a bit difficult so I would recommend that you organise this in advance if travelling from the UK, but we resorted to using the ferries to travel to the many lovely towns around the lake and it was a fantastic and relaxing way to travel.

This place is so wonderful we are already planning when we can return. Grazie mille Deborah e Davide. Vogliamo tornare a presto!

“Fantastic apartment, close to Lake Garda!”

I would highly recommend L'orma Chiara to anyone wanting to visit Sirmione. The apartment is in fantastic condition and looks exactly like the photos with everything you need for your holiday!

We were greeted by the owners who whilst spoke little English came equipped with iPad and Google translate to help with checking in and gave us all the information we needed for our stay. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals including an oven, microwave and dishwasher. The managers also provided a great food pack to get us started including Pasta, Olive Oil, Vinegar, Milk, Butter and a complimentary bottle of Wine, which was a fantastic surprise and very helpful for our first day!

L'orma Chiara is located within the "Il Baglio deli Ulivi" complex which is quiet and in very good condition with a great swimming pool complete with separate whirlpool and showers. The storage unit under the complex had two adult bikes and two children’s bikes and four sun loungers to use by the pool.

The apartment is a five minute walk to Lugana di Sirmione where you can find shops and restaurants and of course Lake Garda. Lugana di Sirmione is serviced by two bus routes, the “Orange” local buses which take you to Sirmione. There’s also regional buses which run between Verona and Desenzano. You can buy tickets for these either on the bus or from Giornale di Brescia next-door to A&O on Via Verona.

The service provided by the managers was perfect who were quick to respond to e-mails during our stay and also helped us book a taxi back to the airport on our last day. We had a fantastic stay and we very much hope to be back!

“Magnifico - altamente raccomandato!”

I highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a stylish guest house with a great love for details and hospitality. I did not add pictures - it all looks exactly as shown in the web page. What striked me even more that we were welcomed with tons of gifts and free food and drinks by the managers. Our little baby girl got a kids toy and we received a high end bath room kit (shower gel and body milk by Moschino!), a top notch wine, pasta, grana, olive oil., a wide array of coffee capsules... incredible. The room comes with a free Wifi, a private garage and cellar. You even get two bikes and a kids bike during your stay. And as it was raining we were offered to stay a night more!
No need to worry if you can't speak Italian. I can't - but the manager brings his iPad and Google Translate solves the rest. I highly recommend L'Orma Chiara! We will return.
