This place is spotless and has the most beautiful view ever of the snow capped mountains. It is fairly difficult to find at first but our hosts were a delight, keeping in contact with us as we were driving there. My first time driving in Italy and it was straightforward, albeit windy roads, which I did in the dark when arriving. It's worth turning right out of the road to venture higher up into the mountains for some even more spectacular views. We walked each of our 4 days to the ferry, which was up and down some stony footpaths and took about 25 minutes but it was straightforward. There is a large supermarket about 15 minute walk away. We visited Lecco by car, Menaggio & Varenna by ferry and Como by bus, which is larger and more interesting. Prices for food and drink in all places (including Bellagio) are very cheap - even sat right on the front looking out to the lake. This was an absolutely amazing holiday.
We stayed in Casa alla Piana for almost three weeks. It is an extremely comfortable, well equipped house. There is a total absence of traffic noise and a magnificent view from every window. Two good supermarkets are within walking distance, a great bar and a choice of two pizzerias. You can dip into the main town of Bellagio whenever you please and the area is criss-crossed with footpaths which means you can explore to your heart’s content without touching a road. Antonella and Pino gave us a warm welcome and lots of useful local information to kick off our holiday. We are keen cyclists and were happy that the house is only a half a mile from the start of Il Ghisallo, the famous Giro di Lombardia climb plus there are beautiful routes to suit every level of fitness a short ferry ride away in Cadenabbia, Menaggio or Varenna. Bellagio is all about hills so make sure you’ve got your sensible shoes!
Stayed at the apartment with my wife and 2 kids and I must say it is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. To start with we were warmly welcomed by Antonella & her husband, honestly we couldnt have felt more welcomed. Then you go into the apartment, you feel so at home because you have practically everything you have back home and what more unbelievable views overlooking the lake and the mountains from every corner of the apartment, wow simply stunning. To add the neighbours are so kind and polite & even gave the kids a gift when leaving. Like we say its one of our homes away from home.

We stayed here for three nights. We are a family of four with two young kids. It has beautiful views over Lake Como and the mountains surrounding it and is a short drive (5 min) to the city center of Bellagio. Two good grocery stores near by and some interesting back road walks. The hosts Antonella and Pino were very welcoming and provided us with a ton of info about the area and answered our texts when we had questions, very helpful. They also gave us a bowl of grapes from their garden on arrival along with a bottle of wive in the fridge!
This would be a great long term rental place near Bellagio.
Casa alla Piana is a recently refurbished village house in a small hamlet about 20 minutes walk, via sometimes steep and stony paths, to Bellagio- a torch is useful if returning late at night. It provides clean, well-equipped and simple holiday accommodation with good views over the lake. Local shops and several restaurants are closeby. We particularly enjoyed the restaurant at Albergo Silvio. Also, walking to Bellagio alongside the lake via Villa Melzi. The owners, Antonella and Pino, are very welcoming and keen to help- they provided lots of tips about local shops and restaurants and where to go.
