This is great little station that you can take the train where ever you need to go. After we took the train from Rome to stay in Rapallo for a few days...we used it to make our way to Cinque Terre and back for a day trip. The staff is helpful...and they also have a healthy amount of taxis that are right outside, if your destination is more than walking distance away. Easy to get to in the city, and also easy to use.

We arrived from Milan and exited to the motorcycle parking zone. We phoned a taxi from there. It did not appear to be much of a station, much to my surprise, when we went to get tickets to Cinque Terra, we arrived at the entrance to a bustling train station; how had we missed this! The staff was helpful, and at least one English speaking agent.

The station serves the community and also the large tourist visitors situated between La Spezia and Genoa. A great place to base your visit to the region. Platform one is for trains from Roma direction. For those wishing to travel back towards Rome, you should ask your taxi driver to drop you off at Platform 2, so that you won't need to carry all your baggage up and down the stairs.
