Take the lift from the Via Baldi and relax in one of the few shady places in Genoa. The views alone are worth the effort, and the gardens add to the experience

The view of the castle from the outside was great, good for taking photos. Inside it has a lot of stuff, mainly collections of Captain Albertis from his travels. Not bad for an entrance fee of 4.5 Euros. It can be easily reached by bus.

We'd taken the unusual ascensore, walked up to the castle, enjoyed the views over the city, didn't go in the castle, but stayed for a very nice and good value lunch at the cafe.

Arrived via the unusual ascensore (funicular) to find this treasure perched atop the hill. Sadly it was a rainy day so our view was hindered. However, the gardens are worth seeing. We didn't get time to visit the Museum. There is a cafe there and a shop.

This castle has great views of But don't forget the museum. It is a treat in itself. You can think of this museum as the story of a man and his travels because that's what it is. Try to put yourself in his place as you view his rooms and his treasures. Think of the stories he must have told! A great place to visit and the garden cafe is a nice place to relax.
