Le Barettine is a historical restaurant in Triest, and freshly in the hands of Decio, a friend and a fine cook.
When I come back to Triest it is always a pleasure to pay him a visit, to eat some fresh fish, with traditional recipes and some reworks on them.
What I personally like is that Decio tries always to exalt local flavors, instead of creating complex things that would not fit the restaurant soul.
The restaurant maybe is not the best choice during summer because it is missing outdoor space, but the indoor spaces are always welcoming, with a nice old-style touch, a homely feeling and some successful cooking ideas from Decio.
A plus are the wine from the house, coming from the region, not expensive and of a really good quality: another way to give value to the territory.
