“A gem of an apartment!”

Our family of four (teenagers!) had a really lovely stay in Alessandro's lovely, well appointed apartment. Thanks to its layout, and its large spacious balcony, we didn't at all feel scrunched up. Communication was excellent, and Alessandro went out of his way to welcome us. He was also quick to respond the few times we whatsapped him with queries. The kitchen was well equipped (there was a bottle of white from a local Bologna vineyard in the fridge on arrival!), beds were very comfortable, and on those hot July days, the air-conditioning worked perfectly. The balcony was perfect for early mornings and evenings. Alessandro was very kind in allowing us to check out late so that our daughter, who had fallen ill, could rest till our train time in the afternoon. Thank you! Train station and a couple of supermarkets are an easy walk away. There are many books in the apartment on the region that came in useful. Also lots of travel adaptors! We had rented a car to explore the region, and visit the car factories (make advance reservations!), and this apartment building was ideally situated for the purpose. From the balcony you see the spread of the terracotta rooftops, Le Due Torri, and many of the old watch towers for which the city is famous. Bologna is a university town, and thriving. Its piazzas were full till early hours of the morning, and listening to an outdoor summer concert was one of the highlights of our stay there. Marvelous!

“good apartment with balcony, in convenient location for old town and station”

Stayed for 6 days in September (would have stayed longer but apartment busy). Alessandro is a very helpful and courteous host and communication was good. The apartment is on the 11th floor and has a balcony overlooking the old city to one side and the new town to the other. The apartment is well appointed with everything you may need. The aircon and wifi worked well. The balcony is quite large and is ideal for eating out (sun in the morning but there are blinds, some traffic noise on balcony but not in apt). The apt is very well located being only 10 mins easy walk from the old town and less than 10 mins equally easy walk to the station (trains to Modena and Parma). Bus to/from airport, which runs very regularly, also stops at station. There is a good supermarket (Conad) about 5 mins away which you will pass on your way to/from town. There are also many cafes on the walk to town (we used Letterario on via Borgo di S. Pietro) for morning coffee. I understand there is also parking on site but we used the train (Modena 30 mins and Parma 60 mins but allow time to buy tickets as there was always a queue). Bus from airport, which runs very regularly, also stops at station.

“Lovely Apartment - great location”
Reviewed 28 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed here for 10 days recently. The owner, Alessandro is extremely helpful and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The apartment itself is well appointed and comfortable, and has great views over the city. It is very convenient for the railway station, and we were able to get about around most of the larger cities in Emilia Romagna, as well as some in the Veneto region. There are 2 supermarkets within 10 minutes walk, although neither is open on a Sunday, and both are well stocked. There were plenty of things made available in the apartment, not lease of which is wifi access. It all made for a very pleasant stay. I would highly recommentd

“Great terrace and view”

We loved this apartment. The terrace has a terrific view of the city and the apartment was clean and well appointed. Usually we rented apartments in older buildings right in the heart of town and parking was a problem, but having underground parking here (and an elevator) was a luxury. This apartment has a great location. It is close to the train station, has a bus stop in front and grocery stores are a 3 min. walk away. It is a 15-20 min. walk to the old town, historic sites, shopping and the university. There are bars and restaurants 10 minutes away and the streets are full of students until late so we were never worried about walking home after a night out. The apartment is well-appointed with lots of things that are handy and not necessarily provided - oil, spices, soaps etc. and there are lots of maps, pamphltes etc. about the town and the area.
