“Fantasic Hotel in Rome”
Reviewed 11 January 2012

We stayed in this hotel from 14th December till the 18th of December with our 2 teenage daughters and had great time, as has been said many times excellent price verse quality. The room was perfect for a family of 4 and very clean, not very spacious but then we spent very little time in the room. The breakfast room was a bit cramped when busy but no complaints about the breakfast itself, great continental breakfast. It was also very nice, after a full day, to come and sit in the lounge area and have a cup of tea or coffee, very relaxing. There is free wifi in the rooms and free internet access downstairs opposite the lounge area. The staff were great and always helpfull.

The Re Di Roma metro station is down the road and trains come\go every 2 minutes with a one day ticket (24Hrs) costing 4 Euros, very cheap and can be used on the buses as well. Re di Roma station is 4 'stops' away from Termini (10 Minutes). We had great pizza's at Non Solo Pizza at Piazza dei Re di Roma very close to the metro.

Will definitly be back... have unfinished business in Rome :-)

My husband and I stayed at Re di Roma for a total of 5 days in August 2011. We really enjoyed the room - really beautiful inside, very spacious, modern, everything was very clean and user-friendly (ie TV, air). The view from the windows - less beautiful. But it's a quiet area and it was good enough for who it was for! Loved that we had a patio with chairs and a table, it was perfect for sitting out OR drying the clothes we washed in our bathroom. The internet worked great there for our laptop and iPod touch. The breakfast was ok - nothing totally memorable but fine. While we were there, the metro wasn't working - that being said, the walk was too long to get to where we needed to go most of the time. It was definitely farther from most places than I expected. If the metro had been working, it would have been perfect though, because the distance meant it was a quiet area.

There was a day where we wanted to stay in and get some laundry done and try to get in touch with our families, and we actually were asked to leave since we hadn't left by 11, but this was understandable because they wanted to clean our room - the only problem was that I had asked how long they expected it would take to clean the room, we were told about 30 or 45 minutes, and 45 minutes later I walked upstairs and there were like 3 people in our room just standing around. That was strange at the time, it threw me off a little, but looking back I think one was a manager talking to the cleaning people. Normal precautions about keeping your valuable stuff in your bags would suffice there.

The showers drain very slowly - when asked if they could come clean it, the front desk staff explained that the way the showers are is different than other places and the slow draining is a result because they are trying to avoid having any weird smells enter the bathroom? It was confusing but they tried their best to explain it (even drew a picture). We didn't see this any other place we stayed at in Italy. We basically just had to turn the water off while we were soaping up, turn it back on when we were rinsing.

As long as you're ok taking the metro or walking a pretty good distance to the main spots in Roma, this is a great place to stay for the value. We really couldn't beat the price and cleanliness, size of the room and friendliness of the staff. They frequently recommended good places to eat for my husband and I, and took the time to draw it out on the map.

Great price\quality balance. Near the metro station Re Di Roma which brings you to the termini Railway station (if you are planning to travel out of the city) in 5 min or to Spanish Steps in 10 min. Colosseum in 25 min walking away from the hotel (great possibility if the good weather is outside). 2 Supermarkets are near the hotel. The staff is very friendly, moreover, we were checked in a little bit earlier of the standard time (this fact was very pleasant for us after long way to the Rome). One of the receptionists speaks also Russian what was the surprise for us. From the disadvantages I may underline only quite average breakfast (however, not bad for Italy) and bed hairdryer (if it's necessity for you take please your own)

I was quite satisfied for booking this hotel: the location is good with the metro just 2 minutes far from the entrance; staff is very nice; breakfast was very good with lots of choices and the room was wonderful; very nice also the bathroom, new and with all the comforts. Really great value for your money. If I come back to Rome I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I recently stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our Italy trip. It's a great value for your money - big, clean rooms and modern. If you don't mind hopping on the metro (which is right down the street) it's a wonderful hotel.
