I have got to say that Carlo and Valentina are the best host/hostess that we have had on this entire European trip. They are so nice and extremely considerate. Carlo met us at the apartment and even help us map out where to go and gave recommendations on restaurants. The apartment was very nice and clean. He even gave us a small bottle of wine for the inconvenience of having to move on the last day because of building maintenance. He booked us a hotel for the last night. Originally, I was hesitant about having to move to the hotel on our last night but Carlo made it extremely convenient for us. He took all our luggage to the hotel for us. All we had to do was check in. He even provided breakfast at the hotel for us! The apartment had all the necessities. We cooked one meal there and all the kitchen appliances worked fine. We had a little problem with the shower but that was remedied the very next day. He catered to our needs and was an excellent host! I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family. Thank you Carlo and Valentina for making our stay in Rome a fantastic experience!
I really didn't want to review this apartment for a variety of reasons but TA keep sending requests to do so. I will try to be as concise as possible. Two weeks before our holiday I received an email from the owners advising that the building was going to be closed due to "hydraulic" problems!!! Therefore, we couldn't stay there. As this was a 10th birthday trip for our granddaughter we were, naturally, disappointed. Carlo, then said he would try and find d us somewhere else. The apartment he suggested belonged to his friend. We said yes to this due to time etc. However, Carlo didn't advise us of the additional costs cleaning etc which amounted to approximately 80 euros for his friends apartment. With 2 days to go before our holiday Carlo emailed and said his apartment was now available do we want to go there as originally booked. We agreed. The following
issues were raised: 1. There waz an overwhelming sewage smell from the bathroom. 2. The electrical kettle was pouring water from the bottom. 3. There was no light outside of the lift and the apartment door. 4. The kitchen was extremely dated and really needs renovation. 5. The cloths for cleaning were disgusting, I threw them out and replaced them. 6. There was no 2nd bedroom as stated in the information regarding the flat. My little granddaughter had to sleep in the living room. Not very suitable for a 10 year old. 7. The shower water didn't drain and we had to quickly shower to ensure that there wasn't a flood. 8. The shower head was impossible be use properly. Carlo did replace the kettle when we
were out sightseeing. Nothing else was done.
On looking at the advertised apartment lookphotographs I can see the apartment we were given is not the one advertised. The apartment name on the door was I Love Fashion/Shopping or something similar to that and the apartment next door, facing the lift, was called Re di Roma 1. Therefore, I am convinced that we were given a very different property to the one we booked and one that was not up to standard.
We stayed here for six nights and it was simply great: Everything clean and new, many stores around the corner (even a supermarket), also close to the metro station. Absolutely comfortable. Carlo and Valentine are awesome, they helped us with everything (thank you!!!). It has a lift, which is great because i was travelling with my grandmother. Absolutely great, we will come back!
I strongly recommend the apartment! It is a very nice, charming, convenient and clean place, close to a metro station. We were very happy of our choice! Carlo and his wife Valentina are also very nice and helpful with travelers. Very reactive to our requests either by email or by phone, they helped us arrange our trip and gave us valuable advices to enjoy our stay in Roma! They were also very flexible and found a way to check-in/check-out either very late or early in the morning. Carlo and Valentina, thanks again for everything and I wish you the best!
