This is the second time we have stayed in the apartment owned by Francesco on the Via Sora. We just love the location of the apartment! It is right on the corner of Via Sora and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. There is a bus stop on the opposite corner and another up the street on the other side of the Corso in front of Chiesa Nuova. Francesco is a really hands-on owner. From the time we initiated contact with him about coming to Rome again and the time we arrived, he was in constant touch with us. We stayed in the apartment for 17 days. Mrs. Rosie met us on Friday, December 23rd. We had some trouble the last stay with the TV, but Mrs. Rosie set us all up. She also explained how to work the heat. Francesco had replaced the windows and shutters. The apartment was quiet before, but it was even quieter now. What you see in the pictures is exactly what you find when you arrive. The apartment is on the first floor (American 2nd floor). There is a very small elevator in the building.
You enter the apartment and you are in an entrance foyer with a large closet. Down the hall is the kitchen, which is very nicely equipped with everything you might need. There is a small table and chairs. The table can expand and has more chairs hidden inside. There is a large window in the kitchen. There is also a washing machine for your use. The rack for drying your clothes is in the bathroom. Off the hallway is the full bathroom, which is quite large. There is a larger than normal shower stall, a bidet, toilet and nice size sink with drawers and cabinets, and a large window with frosted glass. Make sure you ask Mrs. Rosie to show you the new features on the windows.
Just past the kitchen is the living room with two large windows, a queen-size sleep sofa and large entertainment center. There is a TV, DVD, and stereo system; a small desk; and the room is well lit. Again, off the hall is the bedroom with a large window. The bed is so comfortable. We slept like babies. It is not a full American king-size bed, but it might be a California king-size bed. (We know it was bigger than a queen size bed.) We are used to sleeping in a king bed, and we were very comfortable in this bed. There is no closet in this bedroom. We used the closet in the hall as well as the entertainment center in the living room to store our clothing. It worked really well.
There is a TV in the hall for the kitchen and one in the bedroom. The Wi-Fi was intermittent - we did not always have a strong signal. Since returning home, Francesco has made additional improvements to the apartment by adding window blinds on the windows, and a new luggage rack for the living room and one for the bedroom, as well as painting some walls. Francesco tells us that the exterior building will be renovated as well as the entrance to the building. Also, they are going to install higher speed Internet using fiber-optic cables.
We highly recommend this apartment. It is truly a very comfortable place to stay and so well located to all of major sights in Rome. In addition, there are many great restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Book this apartment now; you will be so pleased that you did.
The accommodation is in a central location. Good value, above all the owner was easy to contact by e-mail and even arranged a taxi, all of which worked like clock work. My only criticism is the absence of a chest of drawers in the bedroom. I would certainly recommend this apartment.
The apartment is extremely well situated - minutes to the Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, Vatican City - everything you could want. It's also near my most favorite bakery, Il Fornaio on via dei Baullari, and everything Roscioli. It will comfortably sleep 4 people and you can cook and dine in comfort. The only point that keeps this from five full stars is the noise from Corso Vittorio Emmanuelle in the event you like to sleep with your windows open, as we do. However, this is a small (half star) price to pay for the location and ease of dealing with Francesco and his property manager, the excellent Mrs. Rosie. Both are super nice and extremely helpful. This is a great place to base yourself for sightseeing in Rome.
Great apartment and very central to all attractions. Francesco was very accommodating and very quick to respond to our requests.
The apartment is very clean and well equipped for a self catering stay.
Only negative is we thought there was a second bedroom however the second bed is in living area!
Otherwise a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend to stay.
This place was great! Clean, well-equipped, and in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Ms Rosie was great when we checked in, gave us great advice on where to eat and how to get around. Francesco was kind enough to arrange from our transfer from the airport, which really helped.
My only issue was that I misinterpreted the pictures in the listing. What looks like a sitting room is actually the second bedroom. The couch is a pull-out. It met our needs perfectly so it was really a non-issue.
The air conditioning unit worked hard, but unfortunately when it's 38 degrees Celsius outside, it's hard to get the apartment to a reasonable temperature.
