Great location, great amenities, all the comforts of home, what's not to love? this flat has everything. Not mentioned before (that I saw) the flat has an oven and the clothes washer is a small washer/dryer. Add to that a dishwasher, a beautiful terrace, a safe well secured building and all the best Rome has to offer within easy walking or bus/metro. I will be back to Rome someday and the first thing I will do when making my return plans will be to contact Gildas.

“Perfectly located vacation home in Rome”

Our stay at the Design Terrace Coliseum was quite good. We arrived early and Gildas allowed us to leave our luggage with the cleaning staff. The apartment was nice and well situated as well as quiet and we took advantage of some of the guest books left behind. We did not have any contact with Gildas during the trip but didn't really need to. The apartment had great windows that opened up to the courtyard. We did take advantage of the laundry and it was the best of the three apartments in terms of drying time. We did enjoy the deck although there weren't as many pillows as were shown in the photo. The shower was the best of the three showers we had on our Italy trip - a bit narrow for American standards but quite nice for European. We would recommend The Drunken Cow restaurant which was within walking distance of the place. We can't say enough about the location where you could wander to the Colosseum within five minutes and see its magical presence in the evening light.

“Sunny, spacious and quiet”
Reviewed 30 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

The apartment is very well equipped, and designed. Lots of sun, and good breezes when the windows are open. The terrace is a delight, full of flowers, sunny and quiet. The location was perfect for us, as my husband grew up 2 blocks away, but it is also close to many of Rome's treasures, as well as great places to eat, shop and hang out. We spent a lot of time with friends and family, but could have easily eaten in more often, nothing was lacking to do so. All in all a wonderful stay.

“Perfect location, quiet and clean!”
Reviewed 25 October 2015 for a stay in March 2015

I should have written this review months ago... but life got in the way.

My husband, 10 year old daughter and I traveled to Rome at the end of March 2015 and had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at Gildas' flat.

We arrived at the Rome Fiumicino airport and immediately caught a bus to Rome Termini Train Station. Very simple and relatively fast given the distance. We then chose to walk to the apartment rather than take the subway. It was a 10 minute walk, and having used google street view to "preview" the walking route, it was very easy to find the apartment.

When we arrived we were met by a very nice lady who was cleaning the apartment from the previous stay... we dropped our bags and went for dinner. We came back to find a spotless, modern, fully-equipped, apartment, There wasn't a single thing lacking; the kitchen was probably better equipped than my kitchen at home! A combo washer/dryer in the bathroom was appreciated, and the bathroom was relatively spacious given the compact nature of the apartment.

My husband and I slept in the bedroom - the bed was a touch hard for our liking, but we slept well and weren't sore in the morning (that's what really matters!). Our 10 year old daughter slept on the convertible couch in the main living area, which we could close off with sliding doors - a perfect set-up and she loved her "couch-bed".

The outdoor space was incredible and definitely a highlight in this already fantastic apartment... very spacious and comfortable. The most surprising thing about the apartment was just how silent it was, given the central location of the apartment; no street noise, no noise from neighbors... no noise at all. This is important to me as I'm a very light sleeper.

I don't think you could get a better location - the apartment is situated a 5-10 minute walk from many of the major attractions in Rome and is directly across the street from a lovely Piazza where the locals congregate around a fountain. Lots of decent restaurants within a few blocks, including an outstanding take-out restaurant as well as a relatively inexpensive gelato shop.

On our next trip to Rome, there is zero question about where we will stay... we all agreed that this was our favorite accommodation out of anywhere we have stayed, and that says a lot.

“Superb!”
Reviewed 24 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We have just had the most wonderful week at the 'Design Terrace'. Gildas was there to welcome us on arrival with a very welcome bottle of crisp white wine. The apartment was ideal for us and the location couldn't be better. We spent every morning on the terrace enjoying a leisurely breakfast before setting out for the day, then again back for a late afternoon siesta before going out for the evening. A mere stones throw from the apartment is the wonderful Piazza della Madonna dei Monti which is wonderful if you love to get a taste of local life. We spent many an evening sat at the local cafe in front of the fountain watching the families/friends gather after work. We walked everywhere - no need to catch the metro, just take a good map. As for the apartment itself, everything you need (although we didn't actually cook!), very clean and very quiet (unbelievable really to say you are in the heart of the city). We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to any couple looking for a fabulous base to explore the city and hope, someday, to return.
