We were a group of 7 who thought it would be good to eat here as the main hotel was fine. The service was slow and poor, meals not great, two were cold, drink order was muddled, overall very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Many thanks to the staff of San Valentino, particularly Tiziano who helped with the return of a bag we had left in the hotel. The bag was returned to the UK to our home address.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

The staff here are very nice and helpful so it is a shame that the hotel let's them down entirely. The room was adequate but cleanliness in the bathroom questionable. Bed had no cover as such although there was a rough blanket (with holes in) in the wardrobe. The corridor absolutely stank of sewers and this continued every afternoon/evening that we stayed. There was a pervading smell of cigarette smoke which with the windows closed could only have come from one of the other rooms despite it being sold as non-smoking. We had asked for a quiet room and were in a room at the far end, it wasn't however quiet - a lot of road noise at the weekend and with laminated floors there was no sound proofing from rooms above. Breakfast was ok but limited choice, good coffee. Had dinner in the restaurant once, overpriced for the quality and portion size, FAR better places to eat within a few minutes walk. All in all we regretted our booking here and it certainly put a dampener on the holiday.

Part 4 of a trip around Italy, we were surprised at how easy it was to access the hotel and park opposite....free of charge! Try that in practically any other city in Italy. There is a metro station a few metres walk around the corner from the hotel, just a couple of stops from the major attractions of the centre. However, walking to many iconic places was easy too. So, a superb location as a base.
The hotel inside is small. From the lobby to the lift to the rooms, everything is small and tightly packaged. The hotel has clearly had a makeover/update recently - the air conditioning in our room was perfect, bathroom clean, well lit and well appointed. A couple of small things, shower bracketry was loose and the hairdryer didn't work although they provided a replacement when told.
Don't expect to dance in your room, they are tiny. However, as mentioned well-appointed and comfortable.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, including the strange guy who was on duty for breakfast (typically basic Italian breakfast fare) each day who delighted in making as much noise as possible going about his work. Not a complaint, just if you've got a heavy head...it may be either amusing or annoying. The owners were pleasant and we felt very welcome at any time.
Considering the scale, history and value of Rome we expected less and got more. Compared to hotels in Florence for example, this one was an absolute gift. Just be aware it's on the small side!
We'd stay here again, and probably will.

We had stayed at a different hotel in a different part of Rome earlier part of our vacation. That Hotel was Terrible. Hotel Andreina. SanValentino was less expensive and much nicer. The location is just 2 blocks away from great shopping and there are plenty of restaurants all over. The rooms are on the small side, but good enough, and the bathrooms are larger than what we experienced in the other parts of Italy. A breakfast is included in the price and the service was excellent. And extra Brava to Titanio (I hope I spelled it right). He spoke English, he was knowledgable, knew where to get the best Rice Balls and even went and picked up our tickets at the Vatican for us for Mass on Sunday. This was my first visit to Italy, and I would definitely stay here if I was to come back again. Definitely worth the price.
