The hotel itself is a little far from the city center and required approximately a 10 minute walk to the metro, then a 10 minute metro ride to the Terminal (where most sightseeing buses originate). Definitely not in the nicest part of town, but we felt safe nonetheless. It was also nice to have breakfast included. However, our problem was the air conditioning. It was not working at all in our original room even after a staff member came in to fix the remote. After trying to work something out between our travel agency and the hotel, they upgraded us to a very nice room on the first floor. Even still, unfortunately, the room was very hot and this made sleeping difficult. Especially after the trek to town and back in 80 degree weather plus humidity. I had been told that the city regulates the amount of air conditioning permitted during certain times of year, and because it was still early in the peak season, it was not fully on. If true, this is not the fault of the hotel but we had to leave nonetheless. For the same price, we got an AirBnB 50 meters from the Colosseum and could walk to everything. Overall, the hotel is a decent value if you are willing to forgive its shortcomings and we did appreciate the staff trying to work with us, but we had to find something a little more comfortable.
