We stayed a lovely week at this hotel. We thought it was very well located about 10 minutes walk from Colosseum, 15-20 minutes from Trevi and Patheon, and about 30 minutes walk from Sankt Peters church. The hotel had a 24 hour reception, which was very nice for us since we had a late arrival. We asked the hotel for transportation and for a reasonable amount they send a driver to pick us up at the airport at night, which was so comfortable so we didn't had to find a taxi. The staff was very friendly and nice and the room was nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay!

We were staying at Clarin in Jan 3-10/2017 with our 11 month son. The location was very good - located on central Via Nazionale street and 10min walk from Termini and 10min walk to main sites - Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, The Pantheon, and via Via Milano tunnel you can easily reach Trevi fountain and nearby areas. The hotel itself and a reception were on the 2nd floor of the building, which could be reached by the elevator (it was narrow and small so consider to have a compact stroller if you are visiting with a baby).
We were staying at room 129. It was quite far from the reception, but that was not an issue as window was looking at Via Venezia side, which was relevantly quite. The room was clean when we arrived and it was cleaned every day. It seemed that the room was renovated not long ago, as the furniture was in good shape, there were no visible stains on walls, floor, no mold was noted in the bathroom too. There was a TV set (though only with Italian channels), a wardrobe with safety box, a table and a chair, also a small fridge that we never used. The bathroom was small (like very small), anyway it was clean and with 24/7 warm water (towels were changed once per 2 days). The cabin in the bathroom was good, but the shower was fixed to the wall and it was very inconvenient to wash our baby (probably the main disappointing thing about the bathroom).
The beds were normal size and we put our baby sleeping together with us, though a baby bad was available for 15€/day.
The room has a central heating which was turned on from the evening and during the night, and as it was unusual cold this January we were filling cold all the time, but additional warm blankets were available. The windows were old-fashioned with inside wooden shutters and the cold was coming from every slot, probably that's the reason why they have double heavy curtains to somehow prevent cold/wind coming in.
There was a central jar and two local lamps, but overall the room was a bit dark and we couldn't leave the curtains open because of the cold, but probably darkness would not be a problem during warm seasons.
The breakfast was given in a small cozy area in front of the reception. Nice women were serving hot coffee. The breakfast was the same every day and not so diverse - eggs, butter and cheese, honey, yogurt, cornflakes, milk and juice, fruits, croissants, biscuits, anyway you could eat as much as you wish, so we didn't stay hungry. Also the microwave was available so you could heat the baby food whenever needed.
The reception staff was always available and willing to help.
The WiFi was available for free in the lobby and you could also have it to the room for 3€/day.
Overall, we had positive impressions about the hotel and it was a good choice of place for the given price.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed in Rome for 4 nights (28th Dec-1st Jan). We were given a room on the 4th floor. The room was shabby with dirty walls and the bathroom was a disgrace. The roof and wires were visible between open panels in the bathroom ceiling. There was also a 'service bathroom' beside our room which was being used throughout the night by a group staying down the corridor and the sound of the door being opened & slammed all night was awful. We complained & our room was changed to a slightly better room the following day which we were grateful for. The final straw came on the final morning. We had an early flight (11am) on New Years Day so decided to go down to breakfast at 7.30am which is the start time advertised around the hotel (breakfast was also included in the price of our stay). We arrived to no breakfast being ready & only a member of reception staff present. He said he didn't know when breakfast would be ready & that it could be 8am. We said we'd wait & he then went on to say it could be 8.30am. We decided to leave & ended up having to pay €15 for breakfast near the train station as it was one of few places open. Stay away from this hotel!!
