I took my wife on a city break and picked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not let down.

It is out of the centre a bit but it is very well connected with a metro station across the road that means you can be by the main tourist attractions in less than 10 minutes.

The hotel room was perfectly adequate although the decor in the room was a bit chintzy and headache inducing! The bed was comfortable although the pillows were a bit rubbish although that's probably just me-I prefer firm pillows bordering on rockhard.

The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough to help and even gave some suggestions on where to eat when we asked for a local place-they even made the booking for us and the food was lovely and off the tourist trail.

The breakfast was perfectly adequate and the rooftop terrace was a nice touch. The only downside were the obnoxious Russian family demanding to know why all breakfast options weren't available-in the hotel's defence, it was 5 minutes before breakfast was due to finish so what did they expect?

Overall, I was happy with my choice of hotel and when we go back to Rome again (hopefully soon-it's my favourite European city!), we would definitely stay here again.

We loved this hotel. The location, as everyone has said, is not central, but there is a bus stop right outside the door and a metro station across the road, so everywhere is accessible. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable and although the rooms are fairly small (like all hotels in Rome), they have everything you need and the beds are so comfortable. The air con is amazing too. There are so many more pros than cons to this hotel, including the amazing rooftop breakfast. And to top it all off, the staff are incredibly helpful and will do anything to help. I would definitely return to Villa Morgagni (and make sure you visit the Iris bar across the road for the amazing pizza!)

The Hotel Villa Morgagni may not be in the heart of the city but it is very convenient to a bus stop and subway stop. And since a taxi-ride to Trastevere is cheap you'll be happy to stay in a quiet part of town. The hotel is very pretty, rooms pleasant and top floor breakfast room sunny with a great view but it's the service from the staff that makes this a hotel to recommend. They were always pleasant and willing to be helpful no matter the questions asked.

The hotel is clean , but the rooms are unfortunately very small. But it is very handily placed near to the metro station.
When arriving from the airport - I strongly recommend the train to the Termini (main) station and then get the metro as unfortunately the cabs at the main station will rip you off once they hear an English accent (obviously not all - but far too many), they hide the meter and reset then argue very aggressively until you meet their demands. Its an unfortunate way to start a visit.
The hotel is also a total rip off for the internet - trying to chrage 25 euro's for 24hrs then when refused it dropped to 20 euros in seconds - so totally a scam just trying to get more money out of you .
Breakfast is good and served from 7 on the 4 floor in an outside area. Cold meats, cheeses, eggs etc, with fresh bread and very good coffee etc.
Recepionist was very helpful with tourist tips etc. and resturant ideas.

The Hotel is located 50 m away from Policlinico subway stop, very comfortable location. It's quite close to the city center, if you like walking you van reach Termini Central Station in 15/20 min by foot. The hotel externally is good looking, quite simple style, the lobby is small. Rooms are confortable, medium size, clean and well equipped. People is kind and they speak English quite well. Breakfast is acceptable considering we are in Rome (breakfast in Rome hotels is very good only in top level hotels which cost min more than 700 Euro/day): continental style but not extremely varied. For a standard room in May (probably the best period to come to Rome with tons of tourists, perfect weather), a month where hotel are going to increase prices up to 100% the standard one, I spent Euro 160 breakfast included (excluded city tax Euro 3/night). It's a good ration quality/price in Rome, very difficult to find a 4 stars hotel this price in May there. I would suggest this hotel for tourists but withou including breakfast in the rate, you can have a good breakfast everywhere in Italy at cheaper price :)
