Recently stayed at the Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna during our family trip to Rome for 5 nights.

The hotel is around 40 mins drive from the Leonardo Da Vinci Airport. The hotel at first seems to be located in a quiet neighbourhood, however it is only a 3-4 min walk to the nearest underground train station Bologna and only 3 stops away from the main Termini station. As it turned out getting in and out of centre of town to the hotel was extremely easy and convinient.

The hotel itself is very modern yet has a cozy feel. The rooms are typically European sized but neat and clean, with clean bathrooms. Comfortable stay overall.

The staff are very courteous and polite and the reception front desk is always helpful and check in and check out was a breeze. Special mention for the bar and breakfast buffet staff who were very accommodating and service was always prompt. We had a 7 month old baby for whom we required hot water for milk atleast 2 times a day and the staff would give us a flask full with a smile every time. Majority staff speak English well so language was never a problem. The breakfast buffet is sufficiently adequate for a hearty breakfast to kick start the day.

However the icing on the cake was that the hotel has so many supermarkets and restaurants and also a gelateria right besides it in a 5 min walk diameter. Carrefour express is right in the next building opp the street, so is Toudi market to get all basic needs and water, drinks, etc. There are many italian and pizza joints and also a Chinese restaurant.

Overall definitely recommended and for the price it's a great option. Will stay if we visit rome again for sure. Thanks to the staff of mercure for a very pleasant stay.

Stayed there on our tour of Italy. Decent rooms except that it was a big step to get into and out of the shower. Hotel staff was friendly and the breakfast was OK. Location out of the way but less than a five minute walk to the Metro to get where you need to. Good local restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May, and it was a truly amazing find. The hotel in not in the center of the city, however it is very close to the Metro, 3 minute walk (max) and the Metro leaves every 2-3 minutes during the day, and is only 3 stops to Central Station. The room was very spacious for 2 people. There was air conditioning in the room, which worked perfectly, this was great as the weather was very warm. The hotel is also nice and quiet, this was ideal after long days of walking the city. The rooms were clean although the bathroom was a little outdated. We had breakfast included and it was a great start to each day with a good variety of options. The staff were very friendly but to be honest we did not have any dealings with them other than on check-in/out. I would definitely recommended this hotel to anyone think of staying in Rome.

Also the hotel is in a nice area with lots of amenities without having to go to the center or walk very far. There Pizza, coffee shops, gelato, supermarkets, pharmacy, clothes shopping and markets all almost on your front door. The locals were also very friendly.

One bit of advice, if you are staying here and you have a lot of luggage or you have a pushchair, the Metro does not have a lift to street level, only to the exit gate, but it is not a large flight of stairs. We did not get any taxis as the Metro was only €18.00 for 72 hours, so I am not sure of the cost of a taxi.
