My daughter is staying here and I am visiting with her for a week. Centrally located to all attractions. Easy to get taxi. Lots of restaurants. Outdoor market for fresh fruit is a wonderful plus. Safe. Staff is friendly and helpful.

On check-in with an unapologetic " there was a problem with your reservation" I was informed that I had been booked into another of "their hotels" just around the corned. It turned out the hotel was situated on one of the busiest roads in Rome center and of course my room right on it.

Old, very old. Dirty. Broken walls. Broken tiles. Fungus in the tub. Hair on the bathroom floor and bed. Not even remotely similar to what is advertised on the hotel page or booking.com. Even the perfect location can't compensate all downsides. Beyond disappointing.

Pros: very clean; great location; in room safe & hair dryer; great shower (Pressure & temp); lots of outdoor space but no view as led to believe in ads. friendly staff except for check out.
Cons: very small room; hard pillows & mattresses; no see through windows; disgusting breakfast; high city tax upon checkout. TV had 1 English Channel which was BBC news recycling every 2hrs approx. Could not see it as TV flickered whole time.
Experience: checkin at 3:00 pm so left luggage & given a map. Surprised at size of room but not in it much. 1st day we went for breakfast in hotel at 10:00 am (open until 10:30) there was NO food left except some hard buns. NO clean dishes left & every table was covered with dirty dishes. No one around (Sun am). Got clean cups from our room & had coffee & 1 hard bun I had picked up so tried to eat it. I mention this because at checkout we were charged for 2 breakfasts on that day. Guess they saw us on video, but if that was the case, why did they not see the mess & the fact there was no food left & do something about it? I disputed the charge (2X4euros) & desk clerk became rude & argumentative. I insisted, so he did take it off. It was the principle. Had ordered shuttle to airport they advertise for 55 euro (but was 58 as they added 3 eur for using cr card) which was 20 mins late. BTW reg taxi is 48 euro.

Spent a couple of nights in this, the oldest hotel in Rome. Handily located for Campo Fiori and just a step away from lots of good restaurants this typical older hostelry is full of charm. Our twin room overlooked the street, but others have access to small terraces and the surrounding roof views. Breakfast was a straightforward continental selection with more substantial selections available in the surrounding cafes if preferred. We were more than happy with the bread, ham, cheese and yoghurts - and flaky sweet croissants. Coffee and juice on tap.

The rooms, though quirky in shape, were clean and cosy in the cooler evenings. The staff were delightful, helpful and multilingual. Good value for money.
