“How on earth did this hostile dump earn 3 stars?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2010

Other reviewers talked about the rude staff. Thinking we could over come that, we stayed here. OMG! The ever changing front desk personnel were miserable, were never helpful and were unnecessarily rude. Same for the breakfast staff. And, what a lousy breakfast it was. With an hour to go before closing baskets were empty, pitchers were empty and we were told "alll gone." The shower measured exactly 26 " by 26". A quick turn around and you drastically changed the water temp. We are travellers and used to accomodating unusual circumstances. The "free" internet did not work on our floor (3rd floor.) Simply a shrug of "I don't know" when we reported this. We were stymied by this 1 star (and that is generous) hotel with a 3 star rating.

like staying in a room in a tenement block.
helpful reception is about the only good thing I could say about it.
Our room was very clean however.
good location, but will never be back again.

This should not be called a hotel. There are businesses and bed and breakfasts all in one building. When you walk in, it looks like a dirty office building. The rooms are very small and the bathroom shower is very small, my husband could hardly move in it. My light bulb in the bathroom blew out in the evening and there was no one to replace it. Yes, we had to go the whole night without a light bulb in the bathroom. Very strange. I would not pay more than 50 euros a night to stay here!!! The lady who works the breakfast in the morning was very unpleasant.

The first night of our stay was a tiny room with a tiny bathroom. By "tiny", I mean nowhere to place suitcase except on the bed, and nowhere to put shampoo or soap in the shower. However, upon request we were moved to a more comfortable room for the remainder of our stay. The room/bathroom were clean, plenty of hot water, a/c worked well, wireless internet access free and fast, breakfast included cereal, yogurt, bread & jam, juice, (instant) coffee. Nothing was luxurious, however it was fine for the limited amount of time we spent in our hotel room.

I'm a Finnish high school teacher. I travelled to Rome together with 15 of my students, my college and my wife. We stayed at Embassy for 11 nights. The hotel was perfect for our needs, and the staff was ever so helpful. We loved the enthusiastic atmosphere in the hotel, as well as the location of the hotel. The hotel isn't at the very center of the city but we found that nearby were some awesome restaurants and food stores. Also the hotel is situated near the central railway station Termini.

I recommend that - if you´re going to Embassy - you visit Via Collina nearby. The street locates one of the best ice cream bars in Rome - I Caruso. The ice cream was as good as we tasted in Florence two years ago at the Carraia Gelateria near the bridge Carraia. I chose Pistaccio with Chocolate which made perfect match - pistaccio with a bit of salty taste together with just-perfect sweetness of the chocolate.

Nearby, also at the via Collina, locates the best cheese store we ever visited: Latticini. There we tasted the warm and self made mozzarella that really blew our minds. I recommend that you also try the Pecorino-cheese.

As a cigar-lover I was surprised that I could find Cohiba-, Montechristo-, Partagas-, and Romeo and Julieta-cigars at local tobacco-stores - although the humidity in their humidors was usually nearer to 60 per cent than the optimal 72 per cent.
