We were here twice, the first time to drink a coffee and later we had lunch from the buffet ! The Pasta was very nice!
The ice cream was so good and the service was so kind with us!
Later in the afternoon we took a coffee at the table and got a FERRERO ROCHER with it! I LOVED IT!!! Thanks!!

I ordered the tuna and tomato sandwich on what appeared to be white bread. It was actually good, although it wasn't tuna salad as I was expecting. It was inexpensive too! It was only 2-3 euros for a half of a sandwich! This place is great for sandwiches, coffee, gelato and is a popular neighborhood spot. It is open until 1am too!

A great little spot to have a wonderful lunch. Food was fantastic and the service was exceptional. We stumbled across this cafe and enjoyed it so much that we revisited it the very next day!

Just a few years ago the Via Cola di Rienzo was a slightly shabby secondary shopping street . Now with a plethora of top brands and such upmarket names as Tiffany's, it is an easy alternative to shopping in the Via del Corso a few minutes walk over the river.

That makes the Portofino a great place to sit and watch Romans of all levels go about their business. Affluent matrons, sharp suited lawyers, glamorous office girls, clerks, tourists bound for the Vatican, school kids having a cigarette on the way home and the occasional beggar will all shuffle by pretty soon after you take your seat.

Mind you, you'll pay. Its not cheap -although sometimes it is very good value. The fruit salad is gigantic, refreshing and delicious. And an early evening beer comes with plates of nibbles, sandwiches, crisps and nuts. In fact it will serve as the first course of your dinner. Most of all I just like to sit there and have a coffee and watch real Romans leading their real lives.

We ordered ice cream sundaes - one banana split (9 euros) and two sundaes each with three flavours of ice cream (7 euros each). They were all very tasty with generous portions.

The service was good and our waitress was friendly. There aren't many tables inside, so we sat in the outside area which has a covering. This was handy as we were concerned that it was going to rain. Only downside was smokers at the other tables. The cafe seemed to encourage this with matches and ash trays on each table.
