We rented the Red Statilia Studio from July 7 to 18, 2017 and used it as our home hub our 35th Anniversary trip to Italy. I must admit that I was very apprehensive renting an apartment from nearly 5000 miles away. My fears were put to rest soon after our arrival in Rome and journey to the apartment.
The apartment itself is beautiful and has everything you'd ever need (including good air conditioning for a July trip to Rome). The bed was ultra-comfortable (we'll be buying a like mattress), couch cozy, and table practical. The bathroom was small but provided for all our needs. There was always enough hot water for the shower. We started every morning with wonderful "Italian" coffee and were able to store all the drinks, food, and snacks we wished in the cupboards and refrigerator. The microwave and range came in handy as well.
All that said, the location of the apartment was PHENOMENAL. The Colosseum (never dreamt I'd get to see it) and Train Station were within a 15-30-minute walk and countless other sites were within an hour walk. The Metro station was 5-10 minutes walking distance and would get you anywhere you wanted to go (Train Stations, Vatican, etc.) in short order (less than an hour). We were also just a few blocks (minutes) from the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran which is a must see.
You have a choice of any number of bars, gelato, grocers, restaurants, shops, and just about anything else you'd like within a short walk of the apartment. We highly recommend the Trattoria Fusco (directly across the street from the apartment) and the Trattoria Pizzeria Luzzi (on the way from/to the Colosseum) for great food in a friendly environment at more than reasonable prices.
There was also great comfort in having the apartment while we traveled to Florence, Pompeii, and Venice. It was our "home" while in Italy and we knew we were safe there. The staff was more than helpful in responding to our Email requests for travel assistance during our stay. Our only regret is that we weren't able to meet Paolo as he was away but his associate, Peppe-Federico, was awesome in filling in!
Don't hesitate in renting the Red Statilia Studio. It was a major part in my wife and I living a dream and we will never forget it!!!
My daughter and I recently stayed at the blue studio and loved it. It was charming, very clean, a quiet building. The bathroom was spotless, which is very important to me. The building has a pretty courtyard and it made me feel like we were living like a local. Paolo gave us great suggestions for dining and great tips for getting around Rome. The studio is a short walk to the Manzoni Metro Station and also a short walk to the Colosseum. I would love to stay there again. Thank you for everything Paolo.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment very much. It is just a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum and if you like walking, you can visit everything in Rome by foot. The apartment itself was practical and we enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the nice terrace. Paolo was very helpful and gave us some great tips. I think we'll stay here again next time we'll be visiting Rome!
Great apartment, convenient location and Paolo is well versed with arranging tours or taxis, where to get luggage etc. Very responsive. Had a nice stay. Make sure you try the pizza place at the corner.
Paolo and his assistant were very helpful and responsive prior to and the day of our arrival. Great location, right near the tram/bus and 10 min. to the Coliseum. It was over 100 degrees when we were in Rome, and the air conditioning worked great which was a huge plus. Paolo's assistant met us the day of arrival and gave us restaurant reccs and changed our car pickup time the day we left, which we needed last minute. We found out our flight was canceled very last minute and our airline rebooked us on another flight. I am appreciative that they helped us rebook without any issue and Flavio and Paolo were happy to help. Thank you for your hospitality and we will be in contact in the future when in Rome.
