This was our breakfast spot; coffee and pastry standing at the bar along with the locals! Also offers all manner of grocery items, both local and international. A wonderful store.

As our hotel was near, we went here on 2 occasions, one for coffee and one for take-away cooked food. The coffee & croissants were nice, but the cooked food was just OK. This place is a big grocery store with a standing cafe inside. Next door is a sit-down cafe with cooked food where you can buy and eat at the tables, under the same name Castroni. The place looks historic, I could see lots of locals go here for coffee and lots of tourists go for food and souvenirs.

This is a wonderful shop with beautiful products - all the items that Italy is so famous for are stocked here.

Plus if you're in need of international items like a jar of patax curry paste you'll get that here too !

My wife and I stopped in twice for wine and food items during our recent trip to Rome. We found the store packed with interesting items though a bit crowded at times with narrow isles and high shelving units.

On our first visit, a wonderful man helped us select a wine and pointed out the location of various items we were looking for - the cashier was also quick and friendly - excellent.

On our second visit, there was no one anywhere to assist despite a long wait and a couple of trips down all the isles - the casher was also grumpy and unhelpful - not so excellent.

Overall, a decent gourmet market with a good wine selection and a variety of other interesting items. Service may vary. Be prepared for prices that seem on the high end.
