The view from on top of the Campidoglio building is very nice overlooking the Roman Forum and Colleseum. Inside is quite a nice colletion of gigantic sculptures.

One of the lesser crowded piazzas in Rome (likely due to the exertion required) it provides a fantastic view from above, with the beautiful clay tile roofs and church spires, as well as a shortcut down the hill to various other directions with delightful surprises and confusing turns. The museum is worth spending half a day in, at least. And perhaps this will be your first view of the Forum, arguably one of the best ones! A great meeting place in the morning, or resting place in the evening with an indulgent gelato.

This is the ancient holy place of Roman antiquity. Rearranged by Michelangelo, it is truly Rome's most beautiful piazza. The colouring scheme and the arrangement of the ancient buildings with the replica of the statue of Marcus Aurelius is breathtaking. It is accessible via the cordonata from Piazza Venezia or a road from near the Fori Romano. The Musei Campidogli are present here.
