“Vino, vino, vino”
Reviewed 16 October 2011

Passaguai was next door to our hotel in Rome and we came across this wine bar kind of by accident. There are some tables outdoors on the sidewalk and we were comfortably seated for a galls of wine. As this is a wine bar, the selection is impressive and the prices very reasonable.
The food is also excellent, well presented the young chef is very creative. We returned to Passaguai during our stay in Rome and the service was very friendly each time. This Prati district restaurant/bar is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. It is about a 5-10 minute walkt from St-Peters basilica.

“Good wine and food at a good price”
Reviewed 3 May 2011

This place has 4 - 6 each of sparkling, white, red and sweet wines by the glass, priced at 4 - 5.50 Euro for about 150 ml. The two bottle-fermented sparklers, the Montalcino and the Nebbiolo di Barbaresco we tried were all of good quality and a bargain at the price.

There are about two dozen items on the food menu including local ham and cheese, also at reasonable prices. All three items we tried were well prepared with good ingredients including organic olive oil.

The seating outside on the small sidewalk is necessarily restricted, and downstairs the small basement is probably cosy on a winter's night but perhaps not so inviting on a summer's day, but this place represents a very welcome source of delicious food and wine and a respite from the second-rate places which abound in this area.

“High quality food close to the Vatican”
Reviewed 17 March 2011

We went to this restaurant in a break between the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of St Peters, it's located just a 5 min walk from there. We ordered some delicious Italian chévre and a thin superb pizza with parma and mozarella and some great wine. Great service and situated on a quiet side street away from all tourists. Highly recommended.

“Scum! Stay away from here!”
Reviewed 24 February 2011

Even though the food was ok, the sommelier had an unacceptable attitude. No customer service at all. He got completely out of his mind just because we didn't like the wine. He never said sorry, he didn't give us any discount. Instead he overcharged us!!!! We just asked for a corrected bill and will never come back.
Luckly Rome got plenty of other nice places to go!
