Description: In the beginning was a dairy produce store, selling fresh milk in 1952 on piazza della Rotonda, onlooking the monumental Pantheon. It was founded by Michele Di Rienzo and his beloved wife Adua. The venue perfectly pictures the traditional values of those times, honesty towards our customer, quality in every service we offer, the importance of hard work, and last but not least, the continuous presence of the family. It is in that direction that the work evolves, with the constant help from daughters Cinzia and Tiziana, and later on the younger Gabriele and Marianna, evolving first into a bar, up until its final transformation in the restaurant we behold today, with its elegant interior room and the gorgeous dehors that embraces the square with its terrace

My husband and I were traveling with my parents and it was their first time in Rome. We wanted to take an afternoon to just sit in a piazza to eat, drink, and people watch. We exited the Pantheon and there was someone singing music and we spotted this restaurant and decided to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine. We wound up sitting at this restaurant for hours eating good antipasti and trying some different wines. The service was excellent and they didn't mind us sitting there for hours even though we didn't order a full meal. The atmosphere was excellent and we made a reservation there for the next night for 8 of us as some of our friends were meeting us in Rome the next day. The following evening we had dinner at this restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were equally as good as the day before and we were very happy that we returned. The only downside of dining at any of the main piazzas in Italy is that the price tag is always higher. However, in our opinion, the experience of lounging in a piazza in Italy taking it all in far outweighs the higher prices.

We recently spent five days in room. We stayed a few blocks away from the Piazza del Pantheon. Our first night there we happened upon this restaurant. The food was delicious, view was great and most importantly the service was impeccable.

It was so great to sit out on the plaza and watch folks walk by, the musicians, etc.

We enjoyed the meal so much we came back and ate here two other times while in Rome.

Don't pass up this place and ask for Roberto!!

Our first night in Rome for our 10th anniversary trip we were tired and very hungry. The Pantheon and the piazza della Rotonda is my favorite spot in Rome, so we had to end up there. It was a rainy evening, but even so we wanted to sit outside where we could see the Pantheon and make the most of our Rome experience. We luckily chose di Rienzo to have a seat. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area that in colder or wet weather has heaters and see-through weather protection so we were warm and dry. And the close up view of the Pantheon is amazing beyond words. Our charming Italian waiter, Mario (tall, dark and handsome), was perfect beyond our expectations. He seated us by the heater and immediately brought us some wine to warm us. Even though we did not have our dinner there that night, he had no problem with us lingering for the better part of an hour. We even were serenaded by a charming accordion player. We loved it so much, that we returned the next night for dinner and were not disappointed. The food was excellent, not overpriced and again, the service was impeccable. The second night there was a little italian man playing a mandolin and we loved it. We live in the SF Bay Area in the Napa Valley and are spoiled with great food, so we are pretty particular about meals when eating out and we would recommend this place highly for all aspects of dining. If you go, ask for Mario and tell him that Steve and Terri from Napa referred you.

We happened on this restaurant because we were hungry, tired, and sore from our adventures around Rome. Our waiting gave us choice seating and took care of us. His name is Salvatore. We loved the food! The pizzas are perfect for one person. Sicilian style (very flat). The cheese and tomato and/or cheese and mushroom are simple but delicious. We sampled the pizza around town and this was one of the best. The spaghetti was fantastic and fresh. Everything is fresh! The wine selection is excellent and, again, our favorite waiter (Salvatore) made every visit fantastic. On two different occasions, when he caught us smooching during a romantic moment, he threw rose petals all around our table!

Watching the crowds, the street performers, the families, the tourists was something fantastic. And the crowning piece: the Pantheon!

We'd go back to Rome for a day just to have that pizza and receive Salvatore's attentions!
