I booked Your Home in Pompeii in April 2018. I booked for 10 days in August, for my wife and I and then for our daughter (an adult) to join us for the last 5 days.
Booking was really smooth, and the owner (Sonia) messaged me through the system. On the day before we flew, I messaged her through whatsapp and text. Both of which she replied to.
As it was, we were late on the first day and arrived around 1am by taxi. Sonia was there to greet us and hand over the keys. She lives in the apartment next door.
The apartment is huge, it has 2 massive rooms, one is the bedroom and the other is a kitchen/diner with another huge bed in it. There is a bathroom off that and a toilet with a bidet off that. All are quite big.
The apartment was very clean and has everything you need for your continental breakfast. There is also a large fridge, toaster, coffee maker, and hob. There is no oven, but I have not gone on holiday to Italy to start baking!
The location is excellent in Pompeii. There is the main Cathedral (Shrine of our Lady of the Rosary) and the apartment is literally a couple of minutes walk from the entrance to that. You are extremely close to the side of the Cathedral and can hear the singing whenever there is a service on.
It is about a 15 minute walk to the main archaeological ruins in Pompeii. There are 3 railway stations in Pompeii and one of them is about 3 minutes walk. Another on is around 25 minutes walk and we never got to the third one! You MUST purchase your ticket before getting on the train. We travelled to Naples and Sorrento on the train. You CANNOT get to Amalfi on the train. We drove there and that was an experience.
Sonia was a delight. She came in every other day and cleaned/tidied up (though at a cost of €10 a day). Sonia does not speak English, but she does have an app on her phone, in which she speaks and then it translates into whatever language she sets it to and vice versa. Though some of the translations were not that great. But we always knew what she meant. She also has a dog called Argo, who is a Chihuahua and sometimes popped in. My wife and daughter loved him.
Overall a great place to stay if you're around Pompeii and Vesuvius. Thoroughly recommended.
