The apartment is recently renovated and thoughtfully finished to a very high standard. It is situated at the end of a quiet street close to the historical centre of Naples. Nearby you can buy bread, milk, butter and there is a very friendly newsstand 2 minutes away. The neighbourhood is friendly and welcoming. Larger supermarkets are about 15 minutes walk, one, Sole 365, offers a delivery service from the shop to the apartment. Access to the Metro is about 15 minutes walk (Via Toledo or funiculare). There are many fresh food sellers very nearby. The busy and vibrant shopping streets of Via Toledo and Via Chiaia are 10 minutes away and there is an elevator that takes you from Via Giovanni Nicotera to Via Chiaia. All the major tourist sites are within easy reach of the apartment by foot, taxi or public transport. Should you wish to travel to Capri, Procida or Ischia, the port is about 20 minutes walk.
Paola and Elena could not have been more helpful with advice on things to see, shopping and restaurants. Fresh croissants and juice and wine were left for us on arrival and a taxi was arranged for our departure. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Sitting on the beautiful balcony one evening we agreed that we felt that we were living in Naples rather than just visiting.
This place is a delight and we will return.
A spotlessly clean, thoughtfully equipped flat in a real Naples neighbourhood, ideally situated to explore the city. We arrived fairly late in the evening after a delayed flight, but Elena' s welcome couldn't have been warmer, and we really appreciated the bottle of wine and fruit on the table, with breakfast things all ready for the morning. Elena kept in touch during our stay and it was reassuring to know that she was on hand to help if we needed it; she also kindly booked the taxi to take us back to the airport when we left. Insider tip: what looks like a garage on the corner, 10 seconds from the apartment, opens its shutter at about 7.30am and turns out to be a bakery selling freshly made doughnuts, croissants etc - yummy! Lots of very pleasant, very reasonably priced places to eat within easy walking distance, and local shops if you want to "do it yourself". Already looking at the calendar and planning a return visit...:-)
We stayed for three nights.
The apartment is spotlessly clean.
It has recently been renovated.
The owner prepared the apartment with everything we could possibly want or need: wine on arrival, chocolates, fruit, juices, mineral water, handcream, shampoo, hairdryer everything.
We ate breakfast on the balcony, bought bread from the local bakery one minute away.
This apartment was better than a five star hotel.
Note: the apartment is at the top of a very steep hill so only suitable for good walkers.
Thanks for a fantastic stay.
We would definitely come back again.
