We came by private boat from Sorrento like others. The other three couples in our group decided to head up to Anacapri but when we looked at the line ups for both funicular and shuttle, we decided to stay down by the sea.
We made the right choice.
We wandered through some shops, saw many restaurants and bistros but since it was still early, we continued to a little beach by where you buy tickets for the shuttle. We sat and enjoyed the waves lapping in just sitting by the water.
Then hubby looked to left and noticed a balcony cantilevered over the beach. White and blue decor and looking a tad fancy. When we approached and saw the sign 'Beach Club' we feared we had stumbled onto a private club.
Antonio was standing at the entrance dressed like a server in a fine dining establishment and when I shyly asked if we could come in and take a table by the water he was friendly and quick to show us to what we think was the prime table.
When I asked for a local wine, 'Tony' directed my finger to a local wine and when it arrived, it was crisp, fruity yet dry and perfect. Hubby had an Italian beer. We planned on just relaxing and watching the boats, children playing in the water, and soaking up all that is Capri.
Tony brought a platter of nibblies that was a surprise, welcomed and delicious. I ordered a second glass of wine and the bill total was only 17E. The view and service was priceless.
When the rest of our group met us back at the boat, they were tired from walking, waiting, saw the vistas from the top yadda yadda where as we were mellow, and feeling very very spoiled.
Thank you Antonio and da Gemma.
