From the outside this is a rather an uninspiring block in the grounds of a 5 star hotel. The reception area is nice, the rooms are not huge but a nice size and were lovely and clean, with a good bathroom, ours had a balcony. The lack of iron is annoying. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. It was all reasonably priced for a 3/4 star hotel in sorrento, peak season.
However, what we felt made it a gem were the stunning grounds of Italianate gardens, stunning terrace and equally stunning view of the bay for drinks and a lovely pool. This meant you had some 5 star glamour for 3 star prices. The hotel restaurant was good, but expensive and the choice is so huge in Sorrento, eat out.
It is a good 20 minute walk into the centre of Sorrento, which is fine, but seems longer in the heat. It would be a stretch for little children and the shuttle bus is 5euro pp, each way, Taxis also expensive -20 euro for a 5 min taxi ride.More
