We chose here based on our hotel being close by and our first night in Sorrento. TA reviews seemed very positive albeit not as many reviews as other places. We made a reservation online through TA and arrived just before. We was one of the first to arrive (about 7:15) by the time we left at around 9:30 the place was full outside and with people waiting to be seated.

The service was fantastic the owner made us feel very welcome and was great with our children. He made them some fresh penne which they loved.

A large variety of bread including freshly made focaccia and mini fried pizzas. We shared the calamari and prawns for starters - these where amazing and mixed with fried octopus and courgette.

We both wanted steak after eating lots of fish and pasta for the previous 4 days in Positano. On the owners recommendation we had a 900g T-bone steak between us with some fries and a separate tomato salad. Hands down one of the best steaks I’ve had. So tasty and well cooked. Tomato salad was very flavoursome.

We asked for wine recommendations as all seemed very reasonably priced between €22-€28. The wine recommended was very good.

For desert a tiramisu and grandmothers cake and some limoncello with mini brioche buns.

So good we have reserved a table for our last night. If your staying in Sorrento centre it’s a little of the beaten path and up a big hill but I’d highly recommend.

The service was absolutely great not too much attentiveness but just enough to make you feel relaxed. The bread sides are all delicious especially the mini pizzas and they was complementary. We both had steaks and was gorgeous we have been in Italy for 2 1/2 weeks now and have had steak in Venice, Florence, and Rome and this place was the best. The puddings are massive and also delicious we also got a mini bottle of lemon cello which was complementary. And to finish it all off the owner gave us a free lift back to the city center. The walk up to the restaurant isn’t the best; up a busy road with a steep incline, maybe best to get a taxi which we are tonight for our return visit.

Generous entrees and lemoncello to finish. Fresh breads, home made pizza and we'll priced in an attractive back garden setting. We enjoyed it, if somewhat out of the way and hard to walk to (as no footpaths) but the owner gave us a lift back into town which was very generous. The whole experience was one of welcoming generosity and fresh homemade, quality food.

That was some up hill trek in very humid conditions. Was then told if we’d called he would have collected us! Take note. (Btw we walked further up hill as restaurant sign says Bistro - not Bistro Sorrento) Great hospitality and the food was ok. Think we were expecting more after such good TA reviews. Lots of lovely tasters - table too small to cope. We got a lift back down the hill by owners son. Nice touch. You need to get some ceiling fans in - will keep the mossies away too.

This restaurant is a little out of the way but totally worth it. We walked up from Hotel Girasole in Sant’Agnello which took about 25 minutes. The welcome was very friendly and we were made to feel at home. The food was really good. We were given an assortment of breads and mini pizzas to start and complimentary homemade limoncello to finish. The wine , recommended by the owner was delicious. To top it off we were given a lift back to the hotel in an open top car - fab!
