Our stay at Maiella View was the completion of our 3 week vacation of moving every few days, so we were ready to settle down.
The house and the pool were stunning; the photos do not lie. Bedrooms are air conditioned and it was necessary because, not only does the house sit uncovered from shade, enormous glass windows, untypical of Italian houses, invite the penetrating heat into the house. Ceiling fans would go a long way to cooling off the main floor. At night, the upstairs deck was the perfect spot for star gazing with a night cap. Modern great kitchen complete with necessities, except ice maker.
The location is remote. No walking to town or the beach, but both are less than 15 minutes by car.
The managing couple couldn't have been nicer.

We stayed in Maiella View last year with our 3yr old toddler and another family with 2 young children. I wasn't sure what to expect at 1st but was soon blown away by the total charm of this area and comfort/style of the villa itself. The views from all sides of the villa are breath taking looking out onto the alps on one side & onto the sea on the other, It is definately a place to come for total r&r yet if you're looking for something lively, Pescara town is only down the road by car with some really stylish shops for the ladies and plenty of beach front restaurants/cafes and activities for the family during the summer.
We sampled one of the agrutarismos right beside the villa which is run by a young couple who grow all their own ingredients on site, this was a lovely experience each time we visited we were made feel very welcome and 'one of the family' & got to know a little bit about the italian ways and region from them.
We also visited the local golf club for lunch a couple of the days we were there, again the food was so tasty & staff really welcoming, we immediately felt at ease and wanted to come back for more.
As it is in the middle of a wine region there were plenty of places to stop off & sample the local vine produce which we did a number of times and brought some very keenly priced wine back to the villa to enjoy our meals with. I can definitly say we didn't experience a single hang over the whole time we were there, quality of the grape!
The kids really enjoyed the pool during the day to cool down and the fact there is an alarm on it gave us peace of mind, there was plenty of room on site for them to run around safely away from the main road not that that had much traffic. The rooms are decorated to a very high standard, the beds are extremely comfortable and air conditioning/fans are more than enough to keep you cool in the hot weather.
We would definitely recommend this to anyone who seeks to experience a true local Italian experience.
