The villa is well located in a private setting with gardens on four sides. The pool is a good size and larger than other holiday villas we've stayed in. It is in the sun most of the day but there is plenty of shade under the trees for those who want to relax out of the sun. The villa is well equipped and has various things (salt, sugar, tea, coffee, olive oil, herbs and spices etc) in the cupboards so check before you go shopping.
There is a small supermarket a short distance away, with a larger one about 10 minutes drive away. The salt lakes are a 5 minute walk and worth a go to float on the water! Good beaches at La Mata but we found the sea can be a bit rough there. It's quieter than the beach in Torrevieja though. If you don't mind a drive, the Algar Waterfalls are great and can be combined with a visit to the old town of Guadalest.
Juan, the owner, is friendly and helpful. He took us out for a morning on his boat which was great fun.
