I booked three of us in for lunch on a Saturday and we were the first to arrive at 1pm, with the place filling up rapidly after.
We went for the menú del día which is priced at €13,50 on a Saturday (and a little less on a weekday and more on a Sunday). I had previously asked by email when booking about eating gluten free and was reassured this wasn't a problem.
The restaurant itself is underground, atmospheric and with a Galician flavour.
The choice on the menú was good. Two of us opted for vegetable cream soup to start which was served with a foie gras/ paté on the side and I'm told was good. I had a salad which was simple and a little basic. The mains were delicious - two of us had the entrecot (€2 extra) which was cooked as ordered and had a fantastic char grilled taste and was true to the Galician style. The sliced potatoes and beans were lovely too. The other main ordered was a sole-type fish which was fine and light and tasty. For dessert we had one tiramasu, one yoghurt mousse and one panna cotta. We were well watered, with a bottle of wine and lots of fizzy water.
Service was efficient, personable and friendly. I suspect it may help to be able to speak Spanish if you have menu or dietary questions but some of the staff did seem to speak ok English so I wouldn't worry too much.
Overall we really enjoyed this place. Good Spanish food, good service and great value. I will certainly come back.
