We have stayed on La Torre many times and love the resort. It's always well maintained and is a really pretty area. We normally stay in an apartment out of main season, so to stay in a villa in high season was very different!
There were many more people staying on the resort which gave the village centre much more atmosphere on an evening and there were kids around for our 2 to play with, which they loved. Even though there was more people, there was still a nice calm feel to the place.
We ate in the tapas restaurant and that was lovely and reasonably priced. We understand the Italian is also lovely but you have to book at least the day before in main season as it is very busy. If you have a car, there is a great Chinese buffet a 5 minute drive away, and also an Indian next door which does takeaways and deliverys!
The restaurants at Los Alcazares, particularly on Av Trece de Octobre, just off the AP7, are great and have everything from Indian to pie and chips! This is a bustling area on an evening with a great atmosphere.
The beaches at Los Narejos are great and safe for the kids.
The villa itself was brilliant - the pool was a really good size and was just the right temperature. The huge sun deck got the sun all day from about 9am and we could be far enough away from the pool so that the kids weren't constantly splashing us! As the villa was on a corner plot, there was a grass area to the side where my son could dribble a ball if he wanted a break from the pool.
The supermarket and newspaper shop was only a couple of minutes walk away and the village centre about 5 minutes.
The absolute saving grace for us at this time of year was the air con in the living area and all the bedrooms ( we have stayed in many accommodations where the air con is in the living area only). Each bedroom also has it's own bathroom
There is one bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor which is perfect for anyone not able to get up and down stairs easily.
The washing machine had a really helpful guide to the washing cycles attached to it (may seem like a funny thing to point out but again we have used machines that have literally taken all day to do one cycle, because we couldn't read the instructions!). There's also a clothes horse and pegs.
There were also plenty of noodles, lilos and other pool toys to use in the pool and buckets and bats and balls for the beach.
The villa was just great and spotlessly clean and Mark, who looks after the villas over there was really friendly.
Connect Rentals were also a pleasure to deal with, answered any questions really quickly and refunded our security deposit within a few days of our return. They also provided us with a 'Top tips and essential information' guide, which had everything from where to find the beaches to emergency numbers and we found to be really helpful.
Would definitely stay here again.
