It is not so easy to find such a huge restaurant. One big room at the ground floor and next two on the first and second floor. As food was very good, you may feel good there, if such a big space and a lot of people don't disturb you. I was impressed by efficiency of service.

We wanted a deluxe meal on our last night in Madrid. Posada de la Villa exceeded our expectations. On Cava Baja St., the Inn dates from 1642 and was restored in 1980. You enter and are immediately greeted by a host and the large wood-fired oven on the first floor. House specialty is roast lamb and it definitely was special. Two of us shared an order for "one". A serving for two is on the menu and they will happily downsize it for "one". We also had the Roast Red Peppers “Piquillo”. They're not just oven roasted peppers. Absolutely tasty. The wine list is extensive. Not knowing so much about Spanish wines, we tried the house wine, which turned out to be a fabulous hearty red blend. I'm not a "wine snob" but I do have my preferences, and this was a really good wine. We ended up buying a bottle to bring home. Service was top notch! Presentation was special too linen, beautiful place settings, fresh flatware/dinnerware for all courses, etc. I thought the meal was a bargain, and it truly was. A couple blocks from Plaza Mayor, streets were crowded with cafes and people, not a sketchy area at all in my opinion. This restaurant made our last night in Madrid absolutely special. I'd definitely go back on another visit and highly recommend it for yours.

The roast lamb is delicious, and beautiful decor. Though a bit pricy, the service is excellent, they also gave each of us little sweet treats and a small key as a token. What a wonderful meal. Be sure to take a cab back when eating late, we just witnessed an attempt robbery on the street.

After a trip to the Prado, and a LOT of walking, we were in the mood for good food, Our tour guide recommended this restaurant which is Old Town Madrid on one of the many quaint streets. Their specialty is wood oven grilled leg of lamb--My Oh My!! The four of us split two orders, so we would have enough room for the grilled Padron peppers, mushrooms and asparagus. Not only is the food very good, but the wine list is above average, and reasonably priced. To really top it off, the restaurant itself provides an unbelievable amount of ambiance. The whole experience was really worth the trip.

Wow. Amazing.
We had a private area, on own waiters and the food just kept coming as did the alcohol.
They were funny and friendly and served us as soon as we required it.
The quality of the food was amazing, and such variety.
There was 19 of us and they seated us amazingly well.
What a great restaurant, we all had a great night, when in Madrid do go here.
