Friendly reception and staff. Rather elegant restaurant. We had gambas, tuna tartare and asparagus as a starter. The gambas were simply non interesting, nothing special and at € 30,- for 6 gambas pretty expensive. The tuna tartare with fried egg, mushroom carpaccio and black truffle was of very good taste. As were the asparagus with truffle. Of the main dishes, turbot, hake, lacquered veal and beef tartare were the fish dishes particularly disappointing. The veal was good, pretty large portion, tender (slow cooking). The tartare was equally good. Of the desserts the chocolate soufflé was not to standards. Inside the warm cake the chocolate was all fluid with pieces of cold liquid chocolate. Not exectly one might expect in a star restaurant.

There is no doubt that the kitchen is above average especially in the Salamanca neighborhood which is a culinary wasteland peppered with fun bar/restaurants for well heeled tourists. What's disappointing is that the service is well below the very high prices our waiter suggested they had run out of whole wheat bread before showing up with two slices on a bread plate that he had taken from the upstairs dining room as if he were doing us a favor! The rices are absurd for Madrid. A class of Laurent Perrier non vintage champagne at €12 prices the bottle at €120!! An after dinner local liqueur which is usually on the house in Spain goes for €8 a shot (while a 1l bottle of that liqueur retails for €12). A tiny lobster was €90 etc... For €280 for dinner for 2 with three glasses of wine you can do much better in Madrid, or almost anywhere else. In addition to these price gouging there are the questions of comfort and health. This restaurant is for people who like to dine at very high temperatures in winter and summer and who don't mind or enjoy the cigars that were been smoked (illegally) in the second floor dining room to seep in during desert. Will not go back.

Superb Dinner with Delicious Food & Excellent Variety of Wine. Most of the food are offered half portion, so you could try them as tapas. Excellent service and most of the waiters and the waitresses speak very good English. Price are very reasonable. Hidden Gem at Madrid & could be Michelin Star Restaurant one day!!

At congress meeting in Madrid and no time to check the city itself. Nice atmosphere, great service but there’s no words to say how tasty food was. All different tastes exploded in mouth - fabulous tastes. I have to say that the ‘marriage’ between food and wine was excellent experience.

We had a business dinner here recently. Ambience is good and service is prompt. Starters such as ham, soup, tuna tartar were good. We felt that the fried hake was bland. We all struggled with the main course and had to return it. It was a mixed evening.
