We stayed four nights and found that the staff was excellent, the room was unbelievably quiet given it faced the street and we were only on the second floor, it was spacious for a city hotel, and very clean, with a pretty large bathroom and plenty of closet space. Bed was comfortable, linens were good quality. It was well situated to walk just about anywhere we wanted to go within 20 minutes - if you like walking, which we do!
We had lost our passports at the Barcelona airport but decided to fly on to Madrid and hope they would be turned in, but if not, we would go to the American Embassy and request emergency passports. We learned that they were turned in to lost and found, and the front desk staff at Hotel Preciados arranged for them to be couriered to the hotel. Of course we were anxious to get them and called the hotel frequently during the day to check the status, and were always answered with courtesy.
We did not have their breakfast or eat dinner in the restaurant so cannot comment on food.
Our only complaint was that the cleaning person turned the fan off so that when we returned the room was very stuffy, but this was minor compared to the overall comfort and value for what we paid.More
