Very upset after payed twice the same 3 nights. I made a mistake, because I reserved firstly on wrong dates for distraction. Something the hotel has nothing to do with! But, secondly, I explained the error to the hotel, asking for a nice and good discount for the same nigths on right dates. No accepted! How this policy can retain clients.
I just stayed because I had there a couple of friends intalled with their children.

PS: breakfast service to forget: no coffee and tea spoons, wet and dirty bread recipients

Dear Mr. Rodrigues,

In the 99% of our responses to our client´s reviews, be they good or bad, we sincerely appreciate their publication, since we all learn and use them to improve each day and create better experiences for our guests. In your case it saddens me to see that you finally meets your threat exposed before your arrival at the Hotel, to post a bad review about us if we did not agree to refund the amount of a reservation that you made by mistake for a previous date.

As we explained you by email answering to your cancellation request, the non-refundable reservations have special discounts on the standard rates but they do not accept any cancellation neither to be modified once they have been confirmed and much less after the arrival or departure date as was your request. We ask for your understanding as this room could not be used for any other guest as it was kept for your reservation.
For all these reasons Mr. Rodrigues, the hotel denied your request. Since your arrival we only tried you to have a wonderful stay with us and we put at your disposal our buffet breakfast and the possibility of doing a late check out on the day of your departure which in another situation would have entailed a supplement that we did not apply to you. Both things in deference for an inconvenience out of our responsibility and that we ask you to reconsider the situation.
At the end Mr. Rodriguez, you meet your threat and tried to hurt us badly, something that it seems to us very unfair.

Our maximum Mr. Rodrigues is the satisfaction of our customers and to make them enjoy their stay, I deeply regret that the impression and perception of your experience has not been this way due to the misfortune that occurred and I am at your entire disposal for any additional clarification or any help you may need in the future.

Best Regards

We stayed three nights at this hotel. It is very well located in a very good and very central area of Madrid. There are many places to have breakfast and eat in the surroundings and to which you can go walking. The hotel is a remodeled and updated petit house with a very modern and beautiful decoration. Being an old building, the rooms have more generous measures than modern hotels. We were in a family room with a master bedroom overlooking the Plaza Santa Barbara that has a small annex with a bunk for the kids and a comfortable bathroom. The attention of the staff was very pleasant and professional. The bed is really comfortable and everything in the hotel is very clean and careful.

This Hotel is in a perfect location for all sight seeing, and very close to the Metro.
The room was spotless, the staff are helpful, the food at breakfast was superb, only drawback the coffee machine is not the easiest to use, most struggled with it. If i visited the Hotel again I would ask for a quiet room, we were in 112 and we found the noise from the streets was quite bad, along with the noise from the bins being emptied at around 2am! Having said that it is a lovely hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor (quiet room)

I stayed here for a night, picking the hotel primarily because of the proximity to our office just round the corner. It’s a great location, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and only a 3 minutes walk from the Alonso Martínez Metro Station.

The rooms are a very generous size, huge walk-in showers, comfortable beds and pillows, strong Wifi, and a well stocked mini bar. I couldn’t find any faults at all with it!! The staff were also very friendly and spoke excellent English, useful given my awful Spanish.

My only advice would be to avoid a room at the front of the hotel if you like to sleep with your window open. The bars in the area attract quite a crowd and were quite noisy. However this was no problem for me as the weather meant that I kept the window shut on this trip. Might be more challenging in the summer.

This was one of many stays at Petit Palace. A very delightful place with great staff and service. They were extremely accommodating on room changes and helped me through a difficult time in which my luggage was lost on my flight to Madrid. The room rates are extremely reasonable in view of the value. Super location, walking distance to Puerto de Sol and shopping on Calle Fuencarral, good inexpensive restaurants, and the Alonzo Martinez subway station, which is the hub for several subway lines. I have returned many times and will return again.

Room Tip: Stay away from lower floors on side facing side street-- can get noisy in early AM hours when they pick up the trash.
