Enter through one of the most beautiful carved arches in the world to a small cloistered garden with the founder of the university looking benignly on. Tarry for a while and think upon the scholars in whose steps you walk. A nice little museum abuts....all free

As we walked into the city we came across this courtyard with the statue centred in the middle. Beautiful bronze statue. Took photo but could not find English translation; here is what the stature represents; "Gallaecia Fvlget "inscribed below "Alonso III De Foiseca." Hope this helps other English visitors. Gigantic purple hydrangers enhanced the landscape and the architecture. Can find some quiet and solitude here. The gift shop was closed.

It is worth entering this beautiful courtyard. The sculpture of the founder of the university is very good. You will not resist reaching for your camera to take a few photos.

Our visit to the College was one of the highlights of our time in Santiago. There are short guided tours of the building (including in English at certain times) and these give an interesting insight into the history of the university and open up to you some of the special rooms. The highlight is access to the balcony overlooking the Plaza del Obgadoiro: not to be missed.

A peaceful courtyard with a neat central garden and small exhibition, unfortunately no English translation. Old architecture so still interesting to pop in if passing by.
