All looked good when we arrived we went to the hotel romantica where we had to check in which was fine!we then went our hotel and from the front looked fine went into the main hallway which looks lovely but such a shame it's abandoned as such, empty bar area etc leading onto a pretty terrace area with table and chairs etc again empty!!
Up the stairs to our second floor to Room 214!definitely not for the elderly or infirm as a lot of stairs !what a shame they have put the most dreadful paintings I have ever seen in my life all the way up the walls going to each floor!various sports ones obviously done by the one artist (if that's what u call them )not sure that they do anything for this lovely building etc!
Into the room great size, large beds lovely beams ,wardrobe ,good size bathroom altho very small bath and also sign saying about limited hot water supply etc!!
The room was dark as only had one small window but as we only there for two nights it wasn't to bad!!
The door to the room kept getting stuck which wasn't great and everytime we plugged the kettle in all the electrics blew they took kettle away told us is wasn't that but it definitely was as it happened every time!so couldn't have a cup of tea at all!
The hotel were good and provided us with an iron and board for the room which was great!!
We had the breakfast in the gardens of the romantica hotel which was lovely lots of choice hot food cold cheeses, meats croissants etc!
All in all a Good place to stay altho needs tweaking like I say altho not sure if they are doing that now as the day we left they were shutting down the hotel romantica for renovation for a few months so not sure if the hotel medium was being shut at the same time !!
Would stay again if they just get the things that need sorting done!!

Its a hotel in a building with over 100 years of life. Beautiful architecture and garden. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned. Some areas walls can be a but thin (you can sometimes hear a neighbour snoring) but otherwise helpful and kind staff. Would stay again anytime.

Room Tip: Probably garden side is quieter as deliveries in front may wake you (A neighbour likes playing the same Adele CD at night)

Well located for Station and all the bars. Easy to reach both the main, San Sebastian & Balmins Beaches. Check in is at Hotel Romantica just round the corner. Room cleaned daily with fresh bed linen and towels etc. Air con was good.

I wasnt so sure about booking this hotel initially as I usually like more modern styled hotels but was pleasantly surprised with this place. It was actually a treat to stay somewhere that was very unique. Its an old converted building with lots of original architecture and details. Cool tiles and walls and art. We had a nice little balcony with a view into the garden.
The only complaint is that it can be a bit noisy as the walls are quite thin. You cant hear the outside of the hotel, just other guests coming in the front door and other hallway noises.
Overall anyway loved staying here. Perfect location to walk from the train and then easy to wander through the streets to the restaurants and shops and down to the beach.

This is 2nd time here
2nd floor, so stairs to use
The room standerd is ok
Bed is excellent, bathroom nice
Water pressure is very ok
Breakfast in the garden of the hotel Romantic, simple, but enough
Normaly you do not spend a lot of time on your room, so I did not missed a balcony, or large windows.
A plus is always a fan on the ceiling, and there is one
Aircondition too, but I do not use that
