We were lucky, this restaurant was open and close to the hotel. Very quiet area, we were really wondering whether the restaurant was still accepting customers after 22.45.
They were.
Good surprise. Nice place, good service, in French for French-speakers (even the cards/menu), and good food. Quite some choice for wines, including some that you can order just for 1 glass.

I do enjoy some classic, old guard restaurants and authentic cuisine, but this is not it. The menu is authentic enough but the level of cuisine was disappointing, with some better dishes, some mediocre and some just below par. The lack of good interior design is enhanced by an ok garden, I would therefore advise eating outdoors. Not my sort of restaurant, but it was packed with local clientèle.

We took a taxi from our hotel as this is a little way from the centre, felt like elegant suburbs.
A lovely house with illuminated entrance up the front garden and steps, inside a friendly 'maître' showed us through a nice rather old fashioned dining room (passing amazing dessert trolley)and onto a charming candlelit terrace, where the tables were set around three sides of a large rectangular pool with goldfish.
There was a largish family of several generations, including youngish children, a couple of tables away. So it was a lovely atmosphere and a nice mix of tables in a pretty setting.
The starters were really good, we had several dishes to share (husband, teenage daughter and me) the croquetas being the best of the week in Barcelona.
The main courses were a bit hit and miss, with mine being a bit on the average side, I somehow hadn't realised that I had ordered prawn risotto that was 'curried', and it didn't really work.
But the service was so genuinely nice, the majority of the food was good to excellent, the evening was balmy, relaxed yet quietly buzzy. We really loved the place.

This is a great restaurant in the north central part of town. It was superb and as we were staying nearby, it was also really convenient to walk to. We did not know what to expect, just a recommendation from the hotel. We were very surprised and it was our best meal in Spain. Great service, our waiter explained all the items of interest and had a wonderful sense of enjoying what he was doing. Each course was presented artistically and was simply mouth watering. It was great seeing others enjoying their meal. The main dining area is outside in an airy and welcoming patio arrangement where all tables are equally served. As I said the service was over the top good. The wine selection is broad and not over priced like many places. It was certainly the best meal and the best value for money we found on our visit to Spain. You will not be disappointed. The turbot main course was excellent, cooked to perfection. It is found in the menu of seasonal dishes and may not be there all year round.

Friends who live in Barcelona recommended this restaurant and it was excellent. Lots of traditional Catalan food.

I had menu of day and it was lovely.
