We spent five nights at the Murmuri and enjoyed the atmosphere and helpful staff (Francesco at the front desk is amazing!). We splurged and got the room with a full terrace and it was terrific for enjoying the sunshine. A few recommendations:
The sister hotel (the Majestic) has a fitness club, which you can use as a Murmuri guest. They also have a spa (okay treatments) that has a FABULOUS view over the city. It's a must to visit the terrace bar there (a bonus--you can charge everything back to your room at the Murmuri).
Also the Passage de la Concepcion, which is right next to the hotel is hiding some restaurant gems. In particular, El Japones is worth visiting with the best sushi and tempura in Barcelona!
The hotel restaurant and room service are also quite good. Tip: skip breakfast in the hotel and try anyone of the many bakeries/coffee shops near the hotel. There are plenty to choose from, including a SB located on the other side of the Passage de la C. There's also a smoothie place (Smudy's), which is great for a quick pick me up between the hotel and Avenue Diagonal if you just want something fast and easy.
