This very nice place has a great atmosphere. The lobby and the rooms are very nice. The hotel has a very nice roofdek terrace (no swimming pool). The only disadvantage is the location. The hotel is 15 - 20 minutes walking from the city center and there are not a lot of good restaurants in the neighbourhood.

This hotel is really beautiful. If you are familiar with the Kimpton Hotels in the US, it's very similar, just a bit more cozy. Extremely stylish, gently modern but in a way that is welcoming and warm, not stiff. The rooms were well appointed and the bathroom large for European standards. The breakfast was phenomenal with fresh cheeses, cold meats, fresh fruits, jams, croissants, eggs, and numerous great quality hot teas. The staff was warm and attentive and spoke English and Spanish. This would be a solid five stars for me if it weren't for the beds. Honestly, it's almost strange. The hotel feels extremely luxurious especially given the price; however, the mattresses feel like you are sleeping on a child's cheap twin bed. It wasn't hard or soft really, just cheaply made with no support. The hotel is also a pretty good hike to the main areas, but we found that the tourist bus stops just a few blocks away and was a nice way to see the rest of the city without having a car.

Stayed here overnight while visiting Madrid and deciding on the spur of the moment to travel to Barcelona. Glad we booked this hotel. Convenient to the Metro, so it was easy to get around town. The perfume smell bothered my partner, and you could tell it was to mask the smoking rooms. But to me, it was fine. Happy to have added on the breakfast for 10€. It was a nice set up and worth it. Didn't like how the "gas men" bang on their empty canisters early in the morning in order to attract business, but not the fault of the hotel. All in all, I would stay her again.

Lovely large clean rooms in a central boutique hotel. Great bar downstairs which had a superb pianist playing on the Saturday night we were there. Room service was excellent.

My only negatives:

1) the receptionist was in a flap checking in a couple with children who had gone to move their car. She kept insisting that I had to wait until they completed their check in and I pointed out that she could check me in before they returned from parking car. Only her boss intervening sorted out the issue.

2) the air conditioning units in room had been switched off as it was winter, but room was very warm and stuffy. When I complained they said I should simply open the window. However, this was unsatisfactory as the window had no latch and simply opened fully.

3) double room was actually two singles pushed together, which is not good for an active night :(

My friend and I stopped at this brilliant hotel for 4 nights during December. On arrival, the reception staff were helpful and informative, and this did not change throughout the stay.

The reception, lobby and bar were not on the biggest scale, however they were clean, modern, and definitely appealing.

The room was fantastic, luckily we had a corner room, it was large, clean and quiet, even though to the front was the main street. The bathroom was very nice too, with all modern fittings, and the shower was one of the best I have experienced in a hotel.

Breakfast was a pleasant experience, with a wide selection of nice foods to eat, and you can eat as much as you want, which I certainly took advantage of!!!!

The nearest Metro station 'Rocafort' was within 100m, so travel to anywhere in the city via Metro is easy, but walking to different sights is not too far either, and that way you can see the city in a different way.

The hotel also did afternoon tea everyday, with tea, coffee and various types of pastries. Another complimentary item they gave us was a bottle of wine.

Overall, this fantastic hotel was welcoming, clean and modern, with polite and helpful staff. If I go back to Bareclona, I will be stopping here again.
