La Cucchiarella is a lovely little italian cafe/ restaurant just off the Rambla del Raval, nicely decorated and with good quality food. You can see most of the food on offer behind the glass counter, including various types of ready-cooked lasagnas which they will warm up for you. They do a lunchtime formula at 8.50€ (drinks not included), and have various italian desserts including carrot and almond cake, chocolate and almond cake, raspberry crostata and a great tasting tiramisu. On the downside, I ordered one of their neapolitan saltimbocca (sandwich with pizza bread) - the one named "Torino" - priced on the menu at 4.50€ and they charged me 5€ for it. When I pointed the price on the menu, the girl said "oh, it must be a mistake... but the price is 5€". I didn't insist but this is clearly not the way to treat a customer.

Its at best a nice small cafe, with self service but do not underestimate the quality of food here. We were four of us who tried a couple of different things, like salad with Buffalo Mozzarella (of all the mozzarellas I have had this was far more superior), we had lasagne (both veg and non veg) and a quiche I guess. Everything was really good and despite its size I would love to go back to this place and eat again

Food was brilliant, great quality ingredients served by friendly staff. As previous reviewers point out, it's nout fine dining more of a quick relaxing bite to eat in a friendly environment.

A very small friendly café type place, just next to Barceló Raval hotel in the wee side street, with home cooked food served on paper plates which was delicious, very popular, wine served in a plastic cup, mixed croquettes to start, then lasagne ( various fillings on offer) all served by a luvly lady who spoke broken English, which added to the atmosphere, worth a visit :)

Don't expect fine dining. these owners are eco friendly . paper plates . etc. there is only room for around 12 people, but the food is brilliant . the lasagne is made to order. i had lasagne with bacon and egg through it. my wife had it with pesto and beef. both were superb. the mixed starter of couches were to die for. Deep fried olives with beef tastes superb. you must try this wee bistro. So cheep as will. THANK YOU .
