The main entrance to the park are on Passeig de Picasso, a short walk from La Ribera. It is a great location to take a walk, have a picnic lunch and just get away from the hustle of the city. Beautiful walkways, beautiful gardens and beautiful wide open spaces. A great place to spend part of your day while in Barcelona!

“Fountain the showpiece”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2013

Stayed within a few hundred metres of the park so a casual stroll was easy done. Very dry when we visited so would not say the park was in peak condition. The showpiece is the fountain and on a sunny day it is an outstanding feature. Would have to say that the Retiro park in Madrid is much more interesting and colourful so if you are going to both cities make sure you visit Retiro.

“Not just a park but many parks within a park .. AWESOME”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

Spent a leisurely afternoon just snacking on a nice picnic lunch and strolling the grounds which are not just one park .. but what seems to be several parks within a park.

Every path takes you to a new area with a whole venue of new sights to appreciate from the zoo to great fountains to beautiful wide open spaces to a stately Parliament building. I am sure you get my point wildlife to architecture to untouched nature to stately monuments.

Also ran the park every morning while in town great paths and quite peaceful and serene in the early morning hours.

A must for anyone who wants a short break from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

Here is my tip don't forget your camera many wonderful photo opportunities around every turn of a path.
