Hotel Gaudi is a stone’s throw from Las Ramblas, location is excellent
Property is old but spotless, rooms are quite spacious and have most amenities, no bar fridge or mini bar and safe is not included but breakfast is
Plunge pool is tiny, but roof top patio is lovely with gorgeous views, worth a trip up
Staff are pleasant
Only two downsides for us, beds are very hard and shower curtain wraps to your body when you try to shower
Overall great place to stay in the heart of Las Ramblas, loads of great restaurants and points of interest

We stayed at this hotel the night before a cruise as it was near the cruise port. It was an easy walk to the cruise bus, approx 10 mins. The location is fantastic for Las Ramblas, literally 1 min away. It's a typical Spanish hotel, very clean, polite staff, good breakfast. Only issue is the walls are very thin and is quite noisy. There were a lot of young travellers staying there and smoking weed on the roof terrace but apart from these issues it was a very good value hotel. Excellent choice for a pre-cruise stay.

Room tip: Try to get a balcony with a view.

We picked this hotel for it's great location, just off La Rambla, near Placa Reial. We booked a Superior Room with Terrace. On arrival in our room, on the fourth floor, we decided that our terrace was overlooked by tourists visiting the Palau Guell which was opposite the hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful and offered us a terraced room on the fifth floor which suited better. The room was comfortable and of reasonable size, and having your own terrace was a great plus point.

The rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities or a minibar fridge, but this was not a problem. There is a safe in the room but you must ask at reception for the key (this is provided free of charge). The bathroom was fine with a shower over the bath. The air-con in the room worked well, though the room radiator did not have any means to turn it off - still working in March during our visit.

There is a communal roof terrace which provides great views across the city.

The breakfast was the usual selection of cereals, Juice, tea/coffee, fruit, cheese, cold meats, breads, yoghurts and a small hot selection of sausage, bacon and scrambled egg (replenish regularly). We found the breakfast was good and set you up well for the day.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a visit.

Room tip: I would recommend a superior room with terrace. Street side you get great views of the Palau Guell. 5th or 6th floor are best.

We stayed here for a few days before a cruise. The hotel location suited us as we were able to walk to some of the sights in Barcelona. (It is very close to Las Ramblas and Palau Guell was across the street although a popular sight like the Sagrada Familia is much further away.)

The people at the desk were polite. The self serve breakfast was decent although the scrambled eggs and other "hot" items were not that hot.

When it came time to check out and make our way to the cruise ship, we walked about 10 minutes to the cruise port bus stop (with our luggage) and took the bus to the ship (about 3 euros per person).
