We were on the third floor in the rear building which was quite a trek involving two separate lifts. It was reasonably clean and the chambermaids were very good but it was quite small with limited storage. The bathroom most definitely needs updating.
The dining is on the front at first floor. Light large rooms with attentive staff. The breakfast selection was very good . The evening meals were poor with on most nights no vegetables on the main dish and bland unseasoned meat.
There is an area used at night as a second lounge.
At ground level is the quite small, given the number of guests, lounge and combined Bar. The Bar staff are very good and professional in their presentation of mixed drinks.
The reception staff are quite helpful given the numbers at times seeking answers.

Having the room (212) with outer part of cooling unit - evaporator outside the window - ear plugs should be part of the room equipment.
General staff coldness in attitude.
Despite that the whole hotel was occupied by us - wine professionals they didn't allow us to open our - brought in bottle of wine for proposed paid corkage. Lame.

hotel is very close to train station, a few minutes walk to Plaza Mayor , Cathedral, Casa Campo, shopping and restaurant area, couldn't ask for a better place.
Staff was very professional and answered every question with a smile , check in was very easy.
Room was very clean as well as the bathroom.
Excellent breakfast, there was something for every body, we were a group that range from 11 years old to 73 years old, no one complaint.
