“Lovely house on a nice spot”
Reviewed 10 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Right up on the side of the mountain we found this cosy house. Christo gave us a shot but warm welcome and showed us around. We've stayed here for 1 week in February 2016. The weather was okay on most of the days but when it was to cloudy its only a 20mins ride to the other side of the mountain to enjoy the beach of Puerto de la Cruz.

The house is just as the pictures. Enough space for 4 persons. We've stayed with 2 adults and a 11months old baby. There was a baby bed for here and a baby chair. She enjoyed the swing outside a lot!

The kitchen could use a few more items like bowls and some more knives for cooking. We ended up buying a peeling knife (and left it there for the other guests to use in the future)
The oven could use a manual, cause we couldn't really get it into the right settings to bake a bread make a pizza.
The shower was a bit tricky, cause using to much water flooded the bathroom twice.
The WIFI is shown as available, but the signal isn't very strong, I think its send from the main house, not from this house itself, making it hard to connect in the living room. WIFI connection outside was better, but still not great. And if connected, only 1 of us could connect. My wife and I couldn't both connect. This could use a fix for others.

The barbecue made my day, used it twice and is great. Unfortunately it was too cold to use the pool, jumped into it once (because i couldn't visit a house with a pool for a week and not use it. But i got out damn quick).
The beds are fine and so is the couch.
The scenery is great. Overlooking the ocean (if not to misty) and overlooking the northern mountains.
There are a lot of dogs in the neighbourhood and the barking did annoy me a few times, cause in the evening 1 starts, and the rest follows. Luckily our little girl didn't wake because of it.

I'd really recommend this place, its a nice stay for a decent price.

Thanks Christo!

This villa is a small treasure in the mountains. If you want some peace and quiet this is the place. A car is needed and secure parking is available. The villa is clean and has plenty of room for a couple or a couple with children. The water supply was really good considering our location. The shower was hot and water pressure was great. We used most of the kitchen appliances but not the cooker as we ate out most days.
It can be windy and so we were not brave enough to go into the cold pool but its a decent size. We did have a few days without wind and the pool would of provided great relief but we had sunburn and didnt want to go outside! The outside area is spacious and bbqs are possible. The owner is really friendly and next door if needed but otherwise you are left to your own devices. Contact between the owner is straightforward and replys to messages quickly. The wifi is not great we paid for data via our phone network and we could not get tv signal at all during our stay. I would recommend bringing a few travel plugs. Generally its good value for money. Its takes 20-30 minutes to drive to Santa Cruz. I would recommend a more detailed map to find the villa as google maps only took us so far before we got lost and had to use navigation on our phones. Sometimes the weather was not good but we drove down to the town and to the south and the weather was great.
