Bit disappointed as this is n9 longer a castle but is an art museum. No access to the roof for views. Toilets are good. Entry fee is €4.

We accidently came across this castle and thought it would be a nice walk around it. Our visitation was very short as they were closed at the time we were there, and I must say that the surrounding area was pretty empty too.

Perhaps this attraction is not all too popular among tourists? A big plus in my book at the very least.

Anyways, the castle reminded me of the one in London were they put all the flowers streaming out as a reminder of occurances in history. Although, the one in London is bigger and feels like it has more of its original state to it.

I would curtainly try and visit during opening hours if I can still find the time for that on my trip.

As the Spanish moved to conquer the world Las Palmas was where they established their first base the fortress, the Castillo de la Lux. Now restored it houses the permanent collection of the work the Canarian Sculptor Martín Chirino. His work which spans seven decades shows why he is one of the worlds leading sculptors. There is a beautiful harmony between his work and the pure lines of the fortress.
A must see for people who like history, architecture and sculpture .

Visited expecting to see a historic castle with artefacts etc. All you get is a an art gallery of one sculptor, if you like ironwork this could be for you, castle now surrounded ny it in fence. Contrary to what others have said, you are not told that inside is only an art gallery and you have to follow a predetermined route with no access to the roof or anywhere interesting. Complete rip off, this should not be classed as landmark of historic interest and be called what it is "an overpriced second rate art gallery!"
